I want a gay president so we can see the upcoming civil war just go ahead and get started. 11/3/2014 9:37:06 AM |

If Houston's mayor is any type of preview we would get with a president with an activist agenda, then it won't happen anytime soon.
I really think I'd like to see Mitt run again. I think he would be more moderate, and maybe actually be able to get something done on both sides of the coin. I mean he was a Republican governor in MA FFS. 11/3/2014 10:38:21 AM |

My five seconds of thought on this issue makes me wonder if given the current regime of intentional gridlock for the purposes of theatrics, then perhaps we need an Andrew Jackson-esc (minus the horrendous racism) who is such a force of personality to where they can intimidate Congress enough into cutting the shenanigans long enough to get something meaningful done. Currently, only Chris Christie springs to mind as being such a person. My concern is that he won't be able to shake the anti-marriage equality, anti-choice gaggle in his party and will look silly attempting to embrace them much like McCain did in 2008.
Personally, I would like to see a very wonkish president a-la James K. Polk, or a force of personality a-la Theodore Roosevelt. 11/3/2014 11:26:49 AM |

I think the Chris Christie show of force is just a gimmick for him. Somehow he got that reputation, and now he does it just for theatrics. 11/3/2014 11:43:43 AM |

Can someone please just build a (functional) Delorean so that I may travel to a parallel universe and see how good (or bad) a Gary Johnson presidency turned out? 11/3/2014 11:47:12 AM |

Christ Christie is the conservative version of Obama. Like Obama did when he campaigned, Christie claims to not be part of the political system, someone different who can shake things up and bring change, but really he is firmly entrenched in it. They even both come from states with corrupt state governments. 11/3/2014 12:26:50 PM |

who gives a shit? The two candidates are gonna push their party's agenda and continue to lie to the general public. Democrats are gonna vote democrat, republicans are gonna vote republican. A bunch of hoopla about race and this and that will be made and then we'll have another liar as "President" for 4 years. 11/5/2014 9:12:55 AM |
