I would wait. Watch the league for a few months at least as a neutral, find out which fans are annoying (most likely Arsenal), which players you hate, styles you prefer, most annoying fans on tww (Liverpool), etc

Actually, pick Spurs so we have more people to make fun of

If you want a philosophy that is built on class, humility and tradition with nearly every player being home-grown look no further than Man United.

[Edited on July 11, 2014 at 2:08 PM. Reason : Just buy Fifa and pick the paciest team]

wilso, maybe Liverpool if you're in Raleigh. London Bridge is a cool place to watch games, and it's a Liverpool bar.

I've been following the EPL for a long time and still don't have a favorite team. It's doable.

I don't live in Raleigh but I visit family and friends frequently. I'll have to check it out, I presume it's much more fun with alcohol involved.

Never been there but I hear Stoke is like that. Newcastle seemed pretty normal but I visited in 2003.

PSG basically gives no shits about FFP. Hell, even City are at least attempting to look like they comply.

** and one last point on Ozil. I bet if you polled the general public on who has been the worst German (its obv Goetze based on his putrid Algeria performance alone) 90% would say Ozil... yet he leads the Germans in chances created by a wide margin. He has 15 in 6 games, which at this level, is ridiculous.

If Juve wants Paulinho for 20M I'll buy him the ticket to Turin myself. That's a significant overpay, we wouldn't need a replacement, and that money would be valuable elsewhere.

You'd pay $400 to get rid of a player from your favorite team? You might have a problem.

Money is great and all but fuck a damn Adidas kit deal. Their jerseys are awful.

So is City the only good premier league team left with Nike?

^ I disagree. Nike kits have been absolutely horrific for a few years now. Adidas has a template yes but they are usually very good. I have been waiting for United to switch to Adidas for quiet a while now. So glad its finally happening. I swear Nike has a bunch of 5 year olds designing their kits.

I don't necessarily disagree about Nike but Adidas sucks dude. I was so happy when Warrior took over and still am, despite some of their ridiculous away/third jerseys

^^ I wasn't even looking at it from a financial stand point but you are an absolute idiot (surprise surprise) if you don't think any team would ditch their current sponsors for a deal that is ridiculous by all accounts. Of course United made the right move, are you blind?

Of course it's the "right" move.

But sometimes the fun thing about being a fan isn't worrying about the money and financial bullshit. I like my favorite team to have a nice looking jersey and Adidas jerseys blow.

^ Hey I like my favorite team to have no sponsors at all but when the money involved helps your team, why not? I am pissed about the horrible chevy logo but they are paying out of their ass to be able to put it on the shirt. Man United's kit deals alone is enough to lower the debt (I read somewhere that the interest payments are now down to 20 million per year). A huge difference compared to 3 years ago when the interest payments took a large chunk (~70%) of United's revenue stream.

Also kits are a personal preference. I happen to like Adidas kits, how did you not like this one for Liverpool aimorris?

I hope United finally get an all black third kit. Its been a while.

I liked that one. But the same exact design every year for home/away/third with just different colors gets really old.

^ fair enough. I just think Adidas will be a lot better than the last few years Nike has come out with. I would have to go back to 2008 for the last kit I actually really liked (2011 was good too). This year is also pretty good to be fair, if it wasn't for the chevy logo I think it would have looked great.

2009 (meh)

2010

2011 (I kind of liked this one)

2012 (WTF was this?)

2013 (meh)

I liked that 2011 one.

This full kit home/away was probably the best United Nike year IMHO

Not for shirts^. Adidas gets that revenue. So basically Adidas is going to be making a lot of money from this if United keeps selling shirts.

A few transfer thoughts:

1. I know absolutely nothing about Markovic. People who know say he could be special. Hope so.

2. Vidal would be the signing of the window for any PL team. Can't believe Juve is letting him go at any price.

3. Where does it leave Wilshere if Arsenal somehow got Khedira? Also, Arsenal is not signing Khedira.

Wilshere can't play with Ramsey and he won't play as an AM with Ozil healthy. He will play wide and maybe spotting Ramsey unless Arsene goes away from a 4-2-3-1 (or 4-5-1) which he won't. Basically unless he improves fast and stays fit he is losing a regular spot even without Khedira.

Khedira is probably a non-starter because of wages but I can see a true DM like Schneiderlin pairing with Ramsey.

[Edited on July 15, 2014 at 6:47 PM. Reason : Vidal isn't going to leave Juve this year. united rumors are just that.]

Broken record but fuck PSG.

Chelsea got Filipe Luis, the best Brazilian defender. Surely they would have run afoul of FFP if those assholes didn't give them a free £50m loan for a shaggy haired nothing.

Chelsea, City, United/Liverpool/Arsenal top four*

[Edited on July 16, 2014 at 7:38 AM. Reason : Costa, Luis and Fabregas for a net £35m is unbelievably good business]

Every single club does this, not just United. Also there has been nothing concrete about Vidal from United. Why are you so certain we were/are interested? The media sees an obvious weakness is United's midfield and links us to every player. The club denies it and all of a sudden its mind games.

Also Vidal leaving may still happen. United aren't the only club rumored to be interested in his services.

As far as why Van Gaal wouldn't be interested? You do realize players have to fit into a system and overall strategy right?

Players not being interested in a club. That's rich coming from a liverpool fan. You lot are in the CL and still can't sign CL caliber players.
