^I'd be happy with that team. McCoy at 4 is great. I like Victor Cruz and Frank Gore where you got them. And Wayne and Sanders in the 9th and 10th seem like good values too. 8/27/2014 8:41:40 AM |

My first draft in a 12 teamer, 0.5 PPR. I think it's pretty solid. Not outstanding, as I wish I would have gotten a more reliable 3rd RB. I was supposed to draft at #11, but the draft order got fucked up for some reason (I'm not the commissioner). For some reason I ended up with the first pick and wasn't really prepared for it. I'll have to eventually drop someone for a kicker though.

I certainly wouldn't think so. But that guy is kind of an idiot, so it wouldn't surprise me if he was being serious.
On a different note, I read this post on KSK yesterday and thought it sounded like a fun take on fantasy football:
http://kissingsuzykolber.uproxx.com/2014/08/ksk-presents-my-beautiful-dark-twisted-fantasy-football.html
Basically, the idea is to try to get the lowest possible score every week by starting a team of players that actually see on-field action (so no team of free agents captained by Brett Favre or whatever).
I ran with it and started a league on ESPN. We're doing an online draft tomorrow night at 8:30. If anyone wants in, send me your email address and I'll send an invite. 8/30/2014 10:52:29 AM |

10-man league, 6 points passing touchdowns. Otherwise standard yahoo scoring. I was pretty pleased overall.
My dilemma now is that Wes Welker has been dropped and is available as a FA. I know his whole season will be questionable given the concussions but it is hard to pass up. Just not sure who I'd want to drop. I want to keep Carlos Hyde as a stash for later this season. If I had to drop anyone it would likely be Richardson, MJD, or Mike Evans. I still like Welker's upside but don't want to hurt my depth and reach this early in the season. Thoughts?

Yeah I think Welker might be worth trying to pick up...not sure who I'd rather drop. I might lean Evans. But he definitely has a higher ceiling than Richardson or MJD.
Defense for week 1...PIT (vs CLE) or NYJ (vs OAK)? Just kinda playing matchups with this one 8/31/2014 12:04:45 PM |

I'd run with PIT in week 1
^^you could always drop Dawson for now. You'd need a kicker prior to week 1 but it would buy you some time. 8/31/2014 12:10:57 PM |

I'd go with PIT, too.
I'm leaning towards MJD or Richardson because of the upside issue. Both if these backs will have some decent games but nothing stellar. Probably go with MJD. 8/31/2014 6:02:06 PM |

Vincent Jackson v Carolina
Fred Jackson @ Chicago.

My pre-draft order seems vastly out of whack with what you people are drafting....
Are you all just going by the default ESPN, CBS, Yahoo Rankings?!
TreeTwista's picks at the top are pretty close for #1-#5, steal of Gore still on the board at #57, Brady on par, Absolute steal of Bell still there at #77, Wayne is par, three steals to end it out for Sanders, Jackson, and Hunter
edit: a steal means I have those players at least 10 positions (one round) better than where they went

Gore always seems undervalued in the "expert" rankings. Sure, he doesn't catch a lot of passes, and I guess he's getting up there in age, but San Fran pounds the rock and he's the bellcow.
I heard Gil Brandt salivating over Hunter, so I took a late flyer on him. But in a 10-team league with Jordy and Marshall, where we start 2 WRs and a RB/WR flex, and having Cruz, Wayne and Sanders, I dunno if he'll ever see the field for me. 9/1/2014 10:51:29 PM |

It was on sunday. U draft him instead of a kicker because there is a chance that he sues the nfl and gets his suspension pushed back a year or two like pat and kevin williams did....if it doesnt work out in the next 5 days its an easy drop for a kicker 9/2/2014 1:27:40 AM |

I get drafting him a week ago, before his appeal was denied. I just don't see him playing this year. Sure, you took him with pick 207, but there is a 99% chance he doesn't suit up this season. 9/2/2014 1:33:03 AM |

^^^^^ lol people love the big investment in oft injured rbs...people reading yahoo and espn columns is why i love fantasy football. Your number 2 WR that u spent a 4th on is michael crabtree....and you spent a 2nd rd pick on zac stacy who isn't even the best rb on his team
Look at the league settings.....also 14 teams
In my format, Sanu is a semi-steal at 214. Marvin jones will be out longer than projected and he has looked really good.

First draft for me in a non-PPR 10 team league my brother convinced me to join... seemed like everyone was drunk while drafting. I had pick 6 and got McCoy because almost everyone was going QB (including RG3 4th overall). There was a run of TEs (and TY Hilton?) picked in the 3rd and several top defenses picked as early as the 5th.
1. LeSean McCoy RB - PHI PICK 6 2. Doug Martin RB - TB PICK 15 3. Brandon Marshall WR - CHI PICK 26 4. Randall Cobb WR - GB PICK 35 5. Zac Stacy RB - STL PICK 46 6. Andrew Luck QB - IND PICK 55 7. Victor Cruz WR - NYG PICK 66 8. Torrey Smith WR - BAL PICK 75 9. Michael Floyd WR - ARI PICK 86 10. Kansas City Chiefs DEF PICK 95 11. Andy Dalton QB - CIN PICK 106 12. Dan Bailey K - DAL PICK 115 13. Zach Ertz TE - PHI PICK 126 14. Stevan Ridley RB - NE PICK 135 15. Golden Tate WR - DET PICK 146
any suggestions for a TE to keep an eye on? someone just dropped Ray Rice... thoughts on dropping Ridley for him? probably will try to trade from my WR depth at some point to bolster my TE spot, if I can't snag some sleeper from the waiver wire

I pretty much play my top picks in week 1. We don't really have any indication of what offenses and defenses will be great and terrible, aside from the preseason, which means nothing, so you kind of have to play your top picks in week 1.

I'm gonna pick up Jets D over play them over the Ravens and just carry two DEF for as long as matchups heavily favor one over the other, drop Dobson since he's the #6 WR in a league where only 2 are required per week
Rest of my top picks are all either top 10 week 1 matchups where 1 player is required required (QB, TE, K) or all top 20 for the others (RB, WR)
