For those of you who don't think our police system is inherently doing things the wrong way: Why is violent crime so high in the US?

I mean, according to most of you, it would seem a demographically similar place, like many places in the UK, would have much more violent crime and much more difficulty preventing it.

I know the knee jerk american myth is that minorities cause the crime but fyi, the homicide rate in london is not much different from the rest of the country. Certainly nowhere near the american rate.

Just to help you out a little more...

the burglary rate in london is less than most of america's homicide rate.

and ONE difference that's meaningful is that they are somewhat more economically homogenous, with the consequence being less economic freedom.

So you don't think theres a comparable rich class and poor class in london? Remember, i wasn't talking about the entire country's demographics but i'll play

statistically speaking theres a very small difference. maybe its like 3% more equal but that aint london and it definitely doesn't account for the homicide rate being almost five times higher.

it seems you will do anything to excuse our ugly truth. Why can't you just admit that we have a problem with violence and nothings being done to effectively stop it?
