@ODU and @South Bama are lose-lose games for us. Nothing to gain in playing away games at those places. Ridiculous that it is occuring.

they were all scheduled before Doeren. This was supposed to be how TOB set himself up to squeak into bowls with 6 and 7 win seasons

I know you hate everything TOB, but he had LSU and Tennessee lined up for home-and-homes. Most of these are the results of not being able to land series with bigger teams.

Other than back to back long distance road games (at BC, at FSU), not too bad. Schedule will always be a bit hard in the Atlantic until they decide to reorganize the divisions.

Man, that schedule looks really favorable. I'm trying to contain my excitement.

If we find a way to win that Lville game, we could be undefeated late into October.

I'd be happy to be at 7-0 and get smashed by Clemson. Beating Louisville at home and winning @VT and @Wake would be big.

Just have to hope the week we play Clemson that Watson is out with an injury that week, he's bound to miss at least 3-4 games.

^^They've got a ton of talent, but I wouldn't be surprised if Clemson takes a step back on offense. Morris was a genius and the brains behind that operation. They're really going to miss him.

They're also losing Vic Beasley. He was a two-time All American and ACC Defensive Player of the Year.

Yeah, he's just a DE, but he would single-handedly wreck other teams' offense (including ours)

Except for Florida State and Clemson continuing to be in the same division, this would actually be pretty nice:

North
BC
Syracuse
Pitt
VT
UVA
Louisville
Wake Forest

South
Miami
Florida State
Georgia Tech
Clemson
NC State
Duke
UNC

Lol that is horrible by bdmetsfan. In order to balance the conference, the first thing that has two happen is to split Clemson and FSU. Everything else could be regionalized for all I care.

So apparently Coach Canada, although being a candidate for UT's OC position, is staying with WPN.

I just think north vs south would be better for teams to travel. I don't see both Clemson and FSU always being the top 2. We also know that Wake, Syracuse, and VT are all at a down point and won't stay that way for long.

So why exactly will Wake get better? They sucked forever and then Grobe took advantage of a horribly weak ACC to win a championship. Now they are back to sucking. Doubt they are getting better anytime soon.

Two things I don't like about this schedule.

1) A home game on Halloween Saturday

2) UNC being our last game of the season on "Rivalry Weekend." I would much rather see us play UNC early in the ACC season. That is the same weekend as Ohio State vs Michigan, Alabama vs Auburn, Florida vs Florida State, Ole Miss vs Mississippi State, Clemson vs South Carolina, and probably a lot more. Now when you look at that list of matchups where do you think our game vs UNC falls as far as importance to the neutral fan and recruit? I would guess at the very bottom of the list. Playing each other 2 weeks into the ACC season would be much better. The odds of both teams being undefeated, or only having one loss aren't bad. It would be much easier to hype and get a good time slot on tv.

So, with a non-conference schedule consisting solely of Troy, Old Dominion, South Alabama & Eastern Kentucky, your 2 gripes with scheduling are which weekend we're playing UNC & the fact that Halloween is on a Saturday?

^Yeah. Most teams play weak OOC games and I think we will do a little better in the future with that. For now it probably isn't a bad move to pad the schedule and get to another bowl. The Halloween timing sucks though, but there is nothing we can do about that. As for when we play UNC, think of it like a fight card. UNC vs NCSU would be like a main event IBF Middle Weight Eliminator, if the game was played a little earlier in the season. Late November vs UNC when both school will be on track for their normal 9 or less wins and playing on the same day as some big rivalries is more like a 4 round bout on the undercard of Mayweather vs Pacquiao.

you're a fucking idiot. I bet you wish we could play the game in May so there wouldn't be anything else on tv to compete against.

If we can pull out a win against the Loserville Tardinals, then the Chokies, then Weak Florist, and Clemson can handle their business early on, the Textile Bowl could feature a couple of 7-0 teams. Hopefully they'd make it an 8 oclock kickoff, on Halloween, just so B4C would be mad.

I guess it is kind of cool, but I like good mid season rivalries. I don't see why everyone gets so overly excited about playing UNC on the last week. We'll have about .0000000000000000000000000000000000000000000000001% chance of getting Game Day in Raleigh and we'll get a crappy regional tv slot. As someone said above, if things go our way early we could be 7-0 going into the Clemson game vs a 7-0 opponent. It would be kind of cool for 6-0 NCSU to play 6-0 UNC.

When we've played earlier in the season before, I seem to remember that a few games (early 2000s?) weren't broadcast on TV

there were games not broadcast on tv when both teams were shitty as hell.

those games also were before ESPN had a billion tv trucks to do pretty much every game on ESPN3 thanks to the upgrade to HD.

I agree, but at the same time they aren't going to lose every game every season. Earlier in the season NCSU and UNC don't look quite as shitty since they haven't had a chance to lose half of their games like they usually seem to do. Playing them when it is official that both teams suck isn't as fun.

As if this game would gain any attention any other day outside of the state. That's just laughable. I like that we as a fan base have a game that we can care about that week. Unless we go on a big earl win streak, we won't have any national attention except when we play FSU and Clemson.
