@ODU and @South Bama are lose-lose games for us. Nothing to gain in playing away games at those places. Ridiculous that it is occuring.
1/28/2015 10:03:35 AM
the USA game was scheduled a while back right? I dunno about the ODU game though
1/28/2015 10:06:03 AM
Recruiting is basically the only benefit I can see
1/28/2015 10:06:31 AM
they were all scheduled before Doeren. This was supposed to be how TOB set himself up to squeak into bowls with 6 and 7 win seasons [Edited on January 28, 2015 at 10:24 AM. Reason : .]
1/28/2015 10:23:39 AM
he was expecting a bit of a drop-off in qb play this year with pete thomas graduating. good job thinking two steps ahead, TOB.
1/28/2015 10:46:32 AM
1/28/2015 10:50:19 AM
I see a benefit to playing ODU and USAit's called Winswtf else is more important than that for next year?
1/28/2015 10:52:11 AM
^the problem is playing those games on the road
1/28/2015 10:55:59 AM
Fuck a Friday night game. I would have went to that game in Blacksburg if it's on a Saturday. FUCK YOU TV.
1/28/2015 11:10:44 AM
UNC game (@Home) is the last game of the season (11/28)
1/29/2015 8:52:44 AM
Is it football season yet?
1/29/2015 9:42:34 AM
Other than back to back long distance road games (at BC, at FSU), not too bad. Schedule will always be a bit hard in the Atlantic until they decide to reorganize the divisions.[Edited on January 29, 2015 at 10:12 AM. Reason : schedule]
1/29/2015 10:10:06 AM
Open date before WF, hell yeah!
1/29/2015 10:13:11 AM
1/29/2015 10:27:44 AM
Man, that schedule looks really favorable. I'm trying to contain my excitement. If we find a way to win that Lville game, we could be undefeated late into October.
1/29/2015 10:32:35 AM
7-0 before taking another Clemson beat down!
1/29/2015 10:57:47 AM
lol at so many assuming we will win our first four games
1/29/2015 11:15:25 AM
I'd be happy to be at 7-0 and get smashed by Clemson. Beating Louisville at home and winning @VT and @Wake would be big.Just have to hope the week we play Clemson that Watson is out with an injury that week, he's bound to miss at least 3-4 games.
1/29/2015 11:16:40 AM
1/29/2015 11:37:18 AM
^^They've got a ton of talent, but I wouldn't be surprised if Clemson takes a step back on offense. Morris was a genius and the brains behind that operation. They're really going to miss him.[Edited on January 29, 2015 at 11:54 AM. Reason : ^]
1/29/2015 11:54:10 AM
They're also losing Vic Beasley. He was a two-time All American and ACC Defensive Player of the Year. Yeah, he's just a DE, but he would single-handedly wreck other teams' offense (including ours)
1/29/2015 3:32:41 PM
1/29/2015 4:37:36 PM
1/29/2015 5:13:45 PM
Yeah that looks balanced.
1/29/2015 5:27:31 PM
lol, thats even less balanced than what we have now.
1/29/2015 5:58:25 PM
Lol that is horrible by bdmetsfan. In order to balance the conference, the first thing that has two happen is to split Clemson and FSU. Everything else could be regionalized for all I care.

So Tallahassee, Atlanta and Louisville, the 3 westernmost cities in the conference, are all in the East division?

So apparently Coach Canada, although being a candidate for UT's OC position, is staying with WPN.
1/30/2015 10:14:13 AM
1/30/2015 10:21:00 AM
Also good to have it in the exact middle of the season.
1/30/2015 12:04:28 PM
1/31/2015 10:31:26 AM
If you aren't splitting up Clemson & FSU,then there's zero reason to realign the divisions
1/31/2015 10:48:52 AM
1/31/2015 11:21:09 AM
So why exactly will Wake get better? They sucked forever and then Grobe took advantage of a horribly weak ACC to win a championship. Now they are back to sucking. Doubt they are getting better anytime soon.[Edited on January 31, 2015 at 3:05 PM. Reason : d]
1/31/2015 3:04:41 PM
Two things I don't like about this schedule.1) A home game on Halloween Saturday2) UNC being our last game of the season on "Rivalry Weekend." I would much rather see us play UNC early in the ACC season. That is the same weekend as Ohio State vs Michigan, Alabama vs Auburn, Florida vs Florida State, Ole Miss vs Mississippi State, Clemson vs South Carolina, and probably a lot more. Now when you look at that list of matchups where do you think our game vs UNC falls as far as importance to the neutral fan and recruit? I would guess at the very bottom of the list. Playing each other 2 weeks into the ACC season would be much better. The odds of both teams being undefeated, or only having one loss aren't bad. It would be much easier to hype and get a good time slot on tv.
2/1/2015 12:55:16 PM
So, with a non-conference schedule consisting solely of Troy, Old Dominion, South Alabama & Eastern Kentucky, your 2 gripes with scheduling are which weekend we're playing UNC & the fact that Halloween is on a Saturday?
2/1/2015 1:35:22 PM
^Yeah. Most teams play weak OOC games and I think we will do a little better in the future with that. For now it probably isn't a bad move to pad the schedule and get to another bowl. The Halloween timing sucks though, but there is nothing we can do about that. As for when we play UNC, think of it like a fight card. UNC vs NCSU would be like a main event IBF Middle Weight Eliminator, if the game was played a little earlier in the season. Late November vs UNC when both school will be on track for their normal 9 or less wins and playing on the same day as some big rivalries is more like a 4 round bout on the undercard of Mayweather vs Pacquiao.[Edited on February 1, 2015 at 4:34 PM. Reason : .]
2/1/2015 4:29:34 PM
oh no, we have to play our rival on rivalry week. what a travesty you're a fucking idiot. I bet you wish we could play the game in May so there wouldn't be anything else on tv to compete against.
2/1/2015 5:30:39 PM
If we can pull out a win against the Loserville Tardinals, then the Chokies, then Weak Florist, and Clemson can handle their business early on, the Textile Bowl could feature a couple of 7-0 teams. Hopefully they'd make it an 8 oclock kickoff, on Halloween, just so B4C would be mad.
2/1/2015 6:01:07 PM
Don't you mean klempsun?
2/1/2015 6:48:39 PM
2/1/2015 10:35:40 PM
^ it would NEVER, EVER, EVERRRRR be cool for UNC to be 6-0. EVERRRR!
2/2/2015 2:23:58 AM
2/2/2015 8:37:28 AM
When we've played earlier in the season before, I seem to remember that a few games (early 2000s?) weren't broadcast on TV
2/2/2015 9:26:48 AM
there were games not broadcast on tv when both teams were shitty as hell.those games also were before ESPN had a billion tv trucks to do pretty much every game on ESPN3 thanks to the upgrade to HD.
