They don't count because they went college/pro/college.

The personality needed to be a successful NBA coach is so different than that needed to be a great college coach. K is honestly the only guy who I think has both but I'd bet any nba roster would get sick of his shit too over 82 games.

I always thought Brad Stevens would replace Coach K and then he went to the NBA...but that would be a pretty substantial jump back down to college and probably a truly successful one for Brad Stevens to make.

Avery johnson hire doesn't impress me. There have been quite a few NBA players and coaches that went to coach in college. Head coaches, that is a different story...only one I can think of is Larry Brown and now Avery.

Gottfried has boys that can hang with Duke...Coach K is on a roll as of late as far as fame goes...He is, I think, the most iconic college coach ever. Or perhaps even most iconic basketball coach in general.

haha ASU sucks so bad

Capel officially removed his name from consideration.

they're going to get stuck with some shithole assistant coach or a has-been head coach like Trent Johnson

how could I forget Rupp and Lefty...

Twista nailed pretty much the only Pro Rushmore
Phil
Red
Poppa
Riley

College Options
K
Dean
Knight
Wooden
Lefty
Rupp
MAYBE Pitino.
not boeheim or sidney lowe

and one option due to decent success in both is
Larry Brown

Finding 4 to mix out of that is teuffff

[Edited on April 8, 2015 at 9:33 AM. Reason : pitino]

Because Lefty doesn't belong. (Hoping you're talking about Driesell)

Outstanding career but he's not even a HOFer.

[Edited on April 8, 2015 at 9:50 AM. Reason : If by Lefty you mean Sid...my bad. ]

More of a reflection of an inept athletic director (we can relate) than the university 'sucking so bad'.

Chapel isn't going anywhere until K retires. Unless it's another top tier job.

^^ official. Surprised he got a high major before Danny. Wonder what it means for Levi Watkins?

Didn't Capel suck and get OU in trouble? Still think brad Stevens will coach at Duke eventually. Or UNC.

I would hope he would take Levi with him. Don't they usually take assistants with them? Or will he try and get a West Coast guy or two to help him with recruiting? I imagine he could get some Northeast recruits to get out of the frozen tundra and down to ASU to see some titties.
