Kirk should play over Anya......can't believe it is to that level

Plus the one they called out of bounds on us that appeared to be off of them. Never showed a good replay on TV but everyone in PNC saw the replay and booed and team and Gott went nuts. FSU made a 3 on ensuing possession.

the last play you are talking about looked like from my vantage point bojangles took the ball out with him. everyone is booing ref who made the call with a crappy vantage point has conference with ref on the other side of the court which usually means it's going to get over turned but nothing happenedi feel bad for the guys they are playing hard but for whatever reason we can not shoot lately. Martin needs to not shoot anymore 3s for awhile and Rowan needs to not shoot another three when he isn't squared up. too many of his shots are coming off screens and he's fading left or right because he's rushing his shot

we're playing hard but not smart. watching the half court sets is like pulling teeth. tempo helps us get any good lucks we have all game.

Abu was doing what he could last night with those offensive rebounds late in the game, but they're just not getting the ball inside, at all...instead settling for outside shots, often a 3. I can only hope taking all these 3's is not by design.Last night at least, Cat wasn't driving unless it was in transition. We need him at the line more to win. I have no idea why Anya is still starting. Let him come off the bench.]

The old Anya-Meeks arguments from TWW are starting to be as one-sided as the Harrow-Marshall ones (lol)

We are the suck. free tickets!!!! rather be able to turn the channel. either that or sell alcohol at the game, so we can drown our sorrows. take Chapel Hill and the over. they are going to score 100.

That too. Yuck. Here's the thing though... they weren't crazy arguments to make at the time. Why are we getting similar level recruits (in terms of HS rankings) and having their players so thoroughly outperform ours. I don't think Roy is some great coach at developing players but some of these kids seem to regress under Gott (not all but certainly quite a few)

Roy keeps his players its as simple as that. If All of Gotts guys stayed on the team like Roy's have, UNC fans would be saying the same things you're saying right now. Players always look better when there is more talent around them. This is what our team would be under Roy. Regardless of how well he develops the players, our team would be great even if the players all stayed the same as they were when they left. CatPurvis (Or Lacey)WarrenWashingtonAnyaLewisMartinMartinAbuFreemanWe'd be arguably the deepest, most talented, and balanced team in the nation. Our 2nd team would be similar to our current team now and the team would be all JRs and Srs.No one would question why Martin couldn't carry more of the scoring load, or why abu/anya/freeman weren't providing inside scoring. Bottom line is the recruiting rankings have held serve for the most part. Warren and Cat have actually been much better than the recruiting rankings indicated. I don't think anyone has been a bust since harrow. Anya was never meant to carry the team offensively. [Edited on January 14, 2016 at 4:39 PM. Reason : k]

I took a look at Anya's statistics, and it's almost uncanny how consistent his per minute production has been his entire career (from a purely "accumulation of stats" perspective):Fresh: 2.1 pts, 2.1 reb, 1.4 blcks, 11.8 min per gameSoph: 4.5 pts, 4.3 reb, 2.4 blcks, 19.4 min per gameJunior: 4.9 pts, 5.5 reb, 2.8 blcks, 23.6 min per gameI mean, that's some damn consistency right there (esp with the blocks). His FG% is still high, but sadly his FT% has fallen tremendously this year (33% vs. 55% last year and 48% freshman year) which is a killer. Not only does it hurt the team in crucial situations, but even selfishly for himself he'd be averaging roughly another point per game this season if only he shot as good as last year's shitty %. I'm thinking he wasn't a "project" at all, seems he had already reached his peak by the time he stepped foot on campus. which is pretty hard to believe.

^^^ That's true, but Paige would of probably left his sophomore year if he played for State, and Brice probably after his junior if he played for us. The fact of the matter is State doesn't offer strong incentives for our players to stick around. Lets see, mediocre college town and no championships in over 30 years. We have a strong fan base, but that's not going to keep a college kid around if they could go pro or even to Europe and make a salary. Sports is a business and the longer players stick in college increases their chances of getting injured and not making any money. That's what they're in college for, and most of them don't have no strong plan B because they don't take education seriously, the earlier they have a chance to depart into the pros the better.

^ strong fan base is debatable. No one showed up last night. It's hard to waste time/money on a team as bad as this one though.

For a program that hasn't done anything in over 30 years, I say we still have a strong fanbase.

^^ yup, its pretty awful. I had assumed it would be a packed house from here in Atlanta, just assuming, really discouraging as a better

Guys, we gotta win a game. We gotta win one bad.
