His defensive effort today was reminded me of women's games against UConn when UConn is up 90. Completely uninterested and worthless. Gott should make him watch the film and tell him he's not playing this week. Fucking ridiculous seeing that kind of effort at a D1 level.

He was awful today. So slow, can't dribble, and was totally lost on defense. And to make matters worse, he missed several open shots today. Too bad Dorn looked just as bad. Maybe we should just play Henderson, johnson, and smith next game.

Dorn was goven way fewer scoring chances and was baically ised in mop up time. He looks like a player whose confidence has been shaken because of his playing time getting jerked around

dorn started the year looking great. he's been pretty bad lately...maybe it's a confidence thing with his minutes being so up and down. maybe it was just a fluke how hot he started the season. dorn's FT shooting has really taken a nose dive. he's 14 of his last 28 by my count. he started the season 29 of 37.

Jeez. Maverick was a fine 3 point shooter. He wasn't Scott wood but he was still a solid shooter. I'm not even trying to be some maverick fanboy apologist. I think mav is a totally replaceable player. But some of the shit y'all are saying about him is really stretching reality here. Not suited for an acc roster...Kirk > mav...mav is bad shooter....a good day for the program when he leaves...fuck outta here with that shit.

^i found this on the backingthepack and, as expected, the efficiency numbers aren't great. but hardly worst in the ACC.

Any numbers. ^This just shows shooting percentages. He shot 36% from three. Same as DSJr/Dorn and lower than Henderson. And yeah he was a great FT shooter, but had the lowest FT rate on the team at .162. You want to use True Shooting? His .562% was only better than Omer, Anya, and Markell.

Defensive rating: 114.4. Only Corchiani worse. Tucker Thompson was rated better.

^^ what I posted showed his efficiency rating which isn't just shooting percentages. It's supposed to be more of an all encompassing stat. He was 6th on the team. That's not particularly good at all...nobody's arguing that he is really good. But it's not "worst regular in the acc" bad. And none of the stats you posted would indicate that he's the worst player in the conference. Mav was far from great. Y'all acting liking he was the worst player to ever suit up is stretching it. That's all.

That's the issue. He's not a top end guy and he's playing 35 minutes a game. And he took minutes away from better players both years he was here because Gottfried had a giant boner for him.

Walk-ons defended better than him. Just let that sink in. I'm not pulling numbers for all ACC but I almost guarantee his defensive efficiency is the worst in the conference. But keep playing the good guys and act like you will actually miss him.

pretty sure the stats where walk ons defended better are seriously skewed by small sample size and the players they were playing against. not sure i'd put much stock in that. but nobody ever said he was a good defender. you went from "he's the worst player in the acc" to "he's one of the worst on the team". nobody's trying to be a good guy and act like he was a great player. i think people just take exception with your view that he's the worst player in the conference.

you can sort by win share and Mav is 93rd in the ACC, or by PER and he's 115th but theres ~19 players that only played a handful of games you can take out so 96th.

Kapita seems like the only one who really should have played more based on advanced numbers, but Mav leaving won't be a big deal
