Every ACC game has been the exact same. We play well overall, but just flat out can't shoot the ball with any sort of consistency. We went totally cold in the middle stages of the 2nd half when Ingram went off for Duke.

Most frustrating thing about that game is having Freeman and/or Anya wide open in the middle of Duke's zone and everyone in the entire damn arena knowing neither of them are threats to score the ball 7 feet from the basket with no defender around them. I want to see us just run Abu and Cody Martin the post, but then that means having Rowan and Caleb Martin out there bricking 3's. (Although Caleb did play pretty well today - was nice to see him not attempt 8+ 3 pointers)

Essentially every loss we've had comes down to a 4 minute stretch where we go cold/they hit shots.

If you remove that 4 minute stretch it's either a 1-2 point difference or us by a bunch. It is really just a shitty 4 minutes in all games that is the difference. Thinking of the Wake game the first 4 minutes of the second half. We've had a lot of stretches like that where we can't hit anything and they get hot.

This is actually more frustrating, I'd rather just lose by 20 and just stink, then know we are really relatively even with all teams we've played except for a few minute stretch. We really aren't bad, we just aren't good. That is where not having a Lacey type that can just pull you through those tough periods kills this team. Cat does the best he can, but it is asking a lot to do all he does and be the guy that keeps you afloat when you go cold. With Lacey we are a top 25 team, and maybe even top 10. Just sucks he left.

I really dislike Grayson Allen. Hope his ass goes pro after this season. Also it's pretty amazing what K can do with otherwise worthless big men. Miles, Marshall, and Zoubek were all very meh as young players, but became solid contributors. Obviously Miles made the NBA and has stuck. Out of the Plumlee gang, only Mason seemed decent as a freshman.
