Too many times Markell Johnson was trying to jump to the other side of the screen and the big would go the same direction and it would leave Robinson a wide open lane to cut back to his left. It looked like Markell had been coached to do it but at some point we should have realized he was left handed.

Think he was 1-8 from 3. He has no inner voice apparently that tells him to calm down and not shoot.

On a better note, Markell keeps getting better and better.

Lost the game because of poor on the ball defense which led to big men in foul trouble having to make up for guards mistakes and poor shot selection.

that logic will always lose eventually. basketball is a team game and if you are relying on one player to stop dribble penetration you have already lost.

Someone with basketball IQ help me understand this. No one could stop Robinson. I understand Batts is limited on the offensive side, but what does it matter if he's not a great scorer if we're getting killed on the other end by Robinson? Why not give Batts a chance to shut him down since no one else could?

^one man cannot stop robinson and he was beating us due to breakdowns in team defense that have plagued us all season.

Even when you are playing man to man, no one person is ever solely responsible for guarding one other person and a good defender can still be abused if the team's help principles are malfunctioning.

Also, if you are playing against a quick player and want to keep him in front of you, you HAVE to back off and give him space. Our guys are asked to pressure all the way down the court which is essentially "asking for it".
