Easy as hell to hate on the bucks though. Harden out there playing decoy and even despite KD's monstrous performance, the bucks had a 20+ point lead they choked away and even in the final moments, it was brain dead play after brain dead play.

3 min left with Giannis posting up harden 1 on 1 and he settles for a fadeaway mid range J? They should have been hunting Harden all game, and they didn't. Noone could guard KD, but do they even try putting the multi time DOP on him? Nah, that makes too much sense. Let's have PJ in foul trouble do his best, with a little Middleton sprinkled in there so he can bang 3s over their heads. Put that on Bud or Giannis, but good grief.

To be fair, Harden is an EXCELLENT post defender. People who shit on Harden's defense haven't actually watched basketball since he played for OKC.

A healthy Harden is an above average defender when he wants to be (rarely in the regular season, but sometimes in the playoffs). Excellent is a stretch. It's fair to say this is a moment he cared. A one-legged Harden play post defense against someone 6 inches taller than him and the freakiest athlete in the NBA... and all that happened was a fadeaway jumper? Give me a break.

If my shitty ass self was given the ball with three minutes left and I had to take a shot against Harden, that's the shot I would have taken (if I could even get it off). A two time MVP should be able to do something better than that.

Anyway, that was just one moment in a half of completely idiotic basketball the bucks played to choke the game away.

It is not a stretch to say Harden is an excellent post defender.

That is elite.

He's never going to be a great perimeter defender, as he really doesn't have the lateral quickness to be a lockdown defender on guards. Even so, he's still for great hands and can get steals. Posting up Harden is not a recipe for success, for anyone. If you want to take advantage of his defense, that is the absolute last way to do it, especially for an athletic freak like Giannis.

^^ I have no hatred for Harden. The guy is hurt. He had 5 points. Kudos to him for being a decoy. Any competent team would have exploited the shit out of him and forced him to the bench. The bucks are going to lose the series now even without Kyrie and Bud is gonna get fired because he is terrible at making adjustments in game which is basically what the NBA playoffs are about.

I don't even think he's a bad defender. But as per usual, you nitpick one thing in my posts, ignore the rest and erect a giant strawman for me to chase and then my dumbass takes the bait. Congratulations.

Regardless of your thoughts on Harden, are you trying to tell me the best shot in that moment in a close game was a fadeaway jumper by Giannis? GTFO. If Harden is an elite defender like you say, that only strengthens my case.

No, but the best shot is to not post up an elite post defender. Giannis made a poor decision, but going at Harden in the post in the first place was just as poor a choice.

Giannis needs to work on his post game. I don't care how good a defender Harden is, Giannis should be able to physically get to the basket against him. He just isn't a dog like some other players, he dominates in the paint and then decides to settle for 3 pointers.

And Philly can't win a title with him as a max player. You just can't tie up that much of your cap on a guy with so many holes in his game. He is barely playable in crunch time.

I wouldn't clown Ty Lue for the player sub thing. If anything, it was him trying to sneak in better matchups. I would clown him for continuing to play Zubac big minutes. I heard a stat that the Clips have some ridiculously poor record when Zubac plays more than 20 minutes these playoffs. When they go small with Batum or Morris playing the 5, they win. They literally won the Utah series playing small ball. And yes, Ayton is better than Gobert offensively but he is getting abused by Ayton anyways.
