I’ve always watched more men’s CBB than women’s or NBA. So the halves vs quarters never seemed like a big deal to me. But the more women’s games I watch the more obvious it is that quarters are superior. Better game flow. The fouls and FT bonus. It just seems to make way more sense.

I have a sneaking suspicion the only real reason men's college basketball hasn't switched to quarters is they get an extra TV timeout, which means more money.

That’s easy to fix if it is the reason. Just have an under 6 and under 3 tv timeout per quarter and suddenly you have 5 timeouts per half (under 6, 3, qtr break, under 6, 3) instead of the current 4 (under 16, 12, 8, 4)

This report says it was a State player that said it. Color me skeptical given UNC made the allegation a day after the loss, and have a history of trying to paint State in a negative light after a loss. I’ll wait for the investigation to conclude and more information to come out before I fully believe the allegation.

VT runs all these screen/rescreen sets getting their players wide open shots, seems like Wes relies on his 1v1 talent too often sometimes

they were going down low nearly every possession in the first half, and then they reverted to 1 v. 1, which worked for one run before half, and then the players seemed to think that would be the way to play the rest of the game
