yeah, so how about them Sox. See they say Mariano is the best closer in the league. Well lets get on a even page, Foulke showed him one thing last night as he sat on the bench. How to end a game without the other team scoring. 10/20/2004 1:09:34 PM |

thats the same with any team not just the Yankees. I held my breath on every pitch last night and the night before. I pounded my head against the wall Saturday night wondering what in the hell happened to the Sox I knew. I watched evey pitch and have lost hours of sleep because the intensity level of this series is so high.
Some how I feel tonight will be a high scoring affair since both pitching units will be pitching on guts. The thing that worries me is the lack of hitting by Manny and JD, and why the 2 hole seems to be cursed for us. The other thing that worries me is Mo and Flash Gordon had a day off. I can't see Foulke being the closer for us tonight. 10/20/2004 1:40:10 PM |

I think that it's funny that some say most Yankee's fans are "bandwagon" fans...I think that it's quite the opposite...we defend our support of the Yankees and others jump on the Red Sox bandwagon with hopes that the Yankees will lose... 10/20/2004 1:52:50 PM |

Beus lady, linswah, and Yankee fans alike,
It’s apparent that you don’t know the difference between the Yankee team you “grew up” watching, and the Yankee teams of the past 10 years. I grew up watching wade boggs, david cone, mattingly, and a coked out doc gooden and darryl strawberry play. I respected that Yankee team. What I have no respect for is buying your way into the playoffs every year, then Steinbrenner firing a dozen people and/or taking away people’s health care benefits when they lose.
BEUs Lady
You are right Yankee’s fans are one of a kind… They like to see their team win by having every great position player in the game or on a bad call by the umps [quote pay-rod here]. I’m sorry but that is not being a fan of baseball first

I think the team that plays the Yankees always gets a big bandwagon. I notice more pro Marlin posters last year during the series. Me I just wanted to get the to off season so the Sox could get more talent to get past the yankees 10/20/2004 2:04:37 PM |

I say if (don't tell me, I KNOW this is a huge if) the Sox have a lead in the 9th, there's only one man to bring in to close it out.

Michael Smith gets it. A lot of people are counting out the Sox because coming back from 0-3 to win it is unprecedented. But all that doesn't matter anymore, because now it's just one game to win it. The probability of winning four in a row is low. But three have already happened. It's just one game now. 10/20/2004 5:05:23 PM |

Uh... Boggs: 93-97 Gooden: 96-97, 2000 Cone: 95-2000 Strawberry: 95-99 Mattingly: 82-95
Funny how the Yankees of the last 10 years and the Yankees you grew up with are the same people.
The Yankees you "grew up" with would be Pat Kelly, Kevin Maas, Steve Howe, Scott Kamieniecki, Steve Sax, Matt Nokes, and Jim Leyritz.
Hell, you can even count Tartabull.
Growing up we all watched Buck Showalter coach the Yankees and caught the tail end of Mattingly's career.10/20/2004 6:36:49 PM |
