gixxer got siezed by the cops when I tried to get it titled last week. Found out it was stolen, then the dmv asshole gave me a citation for illegal possesion of stolen property and obstruction of justice, even though I complied fully with the Apex police. From the time they contacted me and them picking up the bike, was less than 3 hours. The vin numbers that the guy gave me on the bill of sales didn't match the bike and I gave the vin number off the bike to the dmv.

This wouldn't be a bad deal if you get a replacement transmission, but if its just the bent fork and you do the work yourself, or get someone on here to do the work for you, shouldn't be that expensive of a fix.

This R1 isn't a bad price either even though its a 2000. But for the price... seems fishy.

does that not throw a red flag to anyone else? why did you even buy this bike if the vin wasn't actual on the bill of sale.

it sucks you got a citation for posession of stolen property, but you should have known something was up when the vins don't match on a sale. that's probably why they gave you the citation. if the vins were matching on your sale you probably wouldn't have gotten a citation cause you could have pled ignorance.

yeah, it sat in the garage. Spent 1500 to fix up RR so I had to wait for some more funds to start fixxing the gixxer. I was planning on using the gixxer as a track bike, but I felt like trying to get the title so I can drive it on the road since the RR will be out of commision for a bit and since I was going to sell the F2. Now I don't have any motive to work on my bikes.

who would want a RR as an everyday bike? those have got to be the most uncomfortable bikes i've ever ridden. handle great though.

yeah, but i would choose the F4i over the RR for daily riding. much more comfortable of a bike and a lot of fun.

see, you can still have fun!

My ass hurts after 10 mins from sitting. And the bike at stock height is a bit too tall for me, but damn, does it fly through the turns. I could never get that low with the F2 and feel comfortable. Almost seems like the RR does all the leaning for you.

I ride my 600RR daily and love it. But, then again, my commute to work is only about 15 minutes at most. I've done a 10 hour trip on it, and survived, but don't recommend it. The full race leathers with back protector actually make it a lot more comfortable, due to the support they give you and the extra layer. I'm also 6'2", so the bike is very comfortable height-wise.

The power and handling are just awesome in traffic, especially around here where there isn't much to deal with. Nothin like blowing out of a stoplight all the way up to the 55mph speed limit while still in 1st gear

yeah, but it's still a triple

and this is the first time they've been on par in terms of performance (the TT-600 was pretty strong, but not QUITE there with the japanese race reps, and it had some reliability problems, and believe really jerky FI or something)
