I really need an update on Owen.

I don't think it was related to his broken foot since it was his knee that gave out...

"Owen doesn't look good for Cup return, says Sven

COLOGNE (Reuters) - England striker Michael Owen could be ruled out of the World Cup finals after injuring his knee in their Group B 2-2 draw with Sweden on Tuesday, coach Sven-Goran Eriksson told a TV interviewer.

When asked if fans had seen the last in the tournament of the prolific striker who crawled off after twisting badly in only the second minute, Eriksson said: "Maybe, I'm not sure yet. I hope not but it doesn't look good at all."

England midifelder Steven Gerrard added: "He's really down. We need to support him. It's not looking good."

Owen, who will have a scan on Wednesday, fell awkwardly and twisted his right knee as he went down, forcing Eriksson to send on Peter Crouch as a fourth minute substitute in the 2-2 draw.

He was hoping to avoid using Crouch since the lanky striker already has one yellow card and another would rule him out of Sunday's second round match against Ecuador in Stuttgart.

Owen had been looking to show his true form against the Swedes, having been given less than an hour in England's two previous group wins over Paraguay and Trinidad & Tobago after a lengthy absence with a broken foot.

A serious injury for the 26-year-old, who has scored 36 goals in 79 England appearances, is a blow to their tournament prospects.

Alright so Owen is out and Rooney is in. Although this is extremely upsetting, I still think that the return of Rooney still makes England's attack force very strong. There is still a chance for the cup.

"Dutch fans will be hoping to avoid a repeat of the clothing fiasco in the game against Ivory Coast. Hundreds of fans had turned up for the match in bright orange lederhosen emblazoned with the name of a rival to one of the World Cup's corporate sponsors. Stewards infomed them they weren't allowed into the ground with such garments on so they duly stripped down to their underwear for the game! "

USA Starting Lineup:

USA:

Keller, Onyewu, Conrad, Cherundolo, Bocanegra, Dempsey, Reyna, Lewis, Beasley, Donovan, McBride

Subs: Albright, Berhalter, Ching, Convey, Hahnemann, Howard, Johnson, O'Brien, Olsen, Wolff.

I can't be certain on a formation with that lineup. I hope Arena plays offensive although that lineup scares me a bit that he might be holding back.

A couple guesses:

-----------------Keller-----------------
--------Conrad---Gooch---Boca--------
Dolo-------------------------------Lewis
-----------------Reyna------------------
--------Dempsey---------Beasley---------
-----------------Donovan-----------------
-----------------McBride------------------

------------------Keller--------------------
Cherundolo----Gooch----Bocanegra----Lewis
Dempsey-----Conrad-----Reyna------Beasley
-----------------Donovan------------------
-----------------McBride-------------------

I am sure Italy will play for the Win if the US wins because in their eyes they beat us 1-0 and it would make their road to the cup easier.

Beasley MUST be a huge factor today, i thought against Italy he should have run at a few more players, but I understand the reasoning for not taking the risk. Any reason Arena did not use our last sub in that game?

^^ Sorry man, I don't think so. I know the BBC has one but it's only available in the UK. You could set up a proxy to fool them into thinking you're in the UK, but I doubt you can do that at work.

Maybe see if you can find some Chinese or Arabic site that streams (they usually do).
