just wrapped up a body fat competition at our gym at work. lost 14.5 lbs and 7% body fat in the last 8 weeks. started seeing someone the last three weeks, so meals out slowed my progress. my team won the competition and netted us each $310 bucks.

simply kept eating right (had already dropped a bit of weight in the last year after becoming a grad school fatty) and work out 4-5 times a week if not more.

gj dropping your weight!

the only reason Alli is going OTC is because no doctor in their right mind would write a prescription for the Xenical/Orlistat product. Any drug that won't allow your body to absorb fat from the lower intestine will result in your body losing control of your bowel movements. It's a disgusting side effect that never should have made it through FDA testing in the first place. It also blocks the absorption of Omega-3 fats and other necessary dietary fats, which is incredibly dangerous.

The FDA passed this drug just because it went along with their bullshit dietary recommendations, and now it's going to come back and bite them in the ass.

Yeah when I read the explanation oh how alli works I just pctured people having a lot of greasy shits because it blocks the body from absorbing it. Not all fat is bad and they're saying if you eat a well balanced meal and take alli you'll lose more weight but if you're eating a good balance of food then you shouldn't be getting enough bad fats to gain weight. At least enough to warrant a fucking pill to block it out.

NASTY NASTY

Did you see the one info sheet that said something like "Most people make a promise to start dieting by monday but quit by lunch. You could commit yourself to eating 600 calories and exercising 4-5 times a day or you could use the help of alli which guarantees up to 50% more results."

Any idiot that thinks 600 calories a day is sufficient deserves to shit their brains out.

Today's workout was TUFF. He wants to put me on his website as a success story, I told him only if I could write it and he wouldn't proof read.

Alli was Xenical back in the day and was prescribed for extremely obese patients to aid in their weight loss. It's definitely not a long term fix...the Alli pamphlet at my boyfriend's pharmacy even states that once you start using it, you shouldn't stop.

Pretty sad stuff.

I need to buy a scale.

I weighed in at 279 this morning. Down from 301 eight weeks ago.

And BTW, I ate a whole bag of those damn Ruffles made with olestra once...I had the fire-hydrant splatters, and it left a ring of oil around my toilet bowl.

NEVER AGAIN.

I'm really surprised that Alli isn't very expensive. I saw it at Wal-Mart for like $49.99 or something. I was prescribed Xenical because I asked to be put on it, but my insurance doesn't cover weight loss medicines (yet it pays for Viagra, go figure), and the script for one month was $350 or so. Thats for the 90 mg Xenical for 2 times a day. In the Alli packs you get 90 60mg pills, so you can take em 3 times a day. My doctor told me Xenical is pretty worthless. If you diet and lose 10 lbs without Xenical, you'd probably only lose an extra 2 lbs on the Xenical, and considering you shit oil, yeah, not going there.

oh, I didn't take it, theres no way I was blowing that much a month - the thing they don't tell you is that your avg weight loss is only 2-3 lbs a month usually, which is what my doctor found in her info, with my weight loss goal, it was gonna cost waaaaay too much - I just worked out for a few months and stayed on a 800 calorie a day diet and finally lost 10 lbs doing that.

Yay good job!

Today we did lunges back and forth while I held a 4lb. medicine ball above my head, then we did backward lunges with the ball over the head. It sucked and i'm sore.

Afterwards he made me do push ups with my hands on medicine balls. JEEZ MAN

I like that they're really tough.

That would be 36 lbs. per year on average. Which means if you're strict it could add up to 50 lbs. or more in a year. That's a pretty big payoff for someone who needs to lose a significant amount of weight.

there are much better weight loss drugs out there if you want to lose an extra 14 pounds over the course of a year. $350 a month for a drug with such harsh side effects is ludicrous.

I found this prduct called Enviga made by nestea. It's carbonated green tea essentially. 5 calories and 35mg of sodium, everything else is a big fat 0. I've read several places that green tea is wonderful for you but I can't stand the taste. I can with this drink, so if you hate tea or green tea try this drink!!

I see aspartame listed but that's the only negative that sticks out to me. No fats, sugars isn't even listed on the nutrition guide.

I found it at Food city our local grocer chain. I just happened to look at some yummy cappuccino type things listing TWO HUNDRED calories a pop when I saw this. Don't know where they'd normally be, probably soda caffeinated isle.

OH THEY HAVE BERRY AND PEACH TOO!! ergh caps

Ignoring the fact that Bojangles tea is loaded with sugar, black tea is not "just as good for you."

"Aspartame is an attractive sweetener because it is 180 times sweeter than sugar in typical concentrations, without the high energy value of sugar. While aspartame, like other peptides, has a caloric value of 4 kilocalories (17 kilojoules) per gram, the quantity of aspartame needed to produce a sweet taste is so small that its caloric contribution is negligible, which makes it a popular sweetener for those trying to avoid calories from sugar."
