i need a backup TE for gonzalez' bye this week.

should I drop Jerry Porter who has earned .85 pts this season (but should be coming back to form soon)

OR

Brian Griese who is my best QB point-wise (also have Pennington/Cassel) but could have a lingering elbow injury after last week

Porter

do you think that anyone would be there to snatch him up once you drop him? probably not

true, i was thinking i could just grab whichever i drop after the games start. of course if griese is labeled with an injury people might ignore him too.

Well I wanted to try and buy low on Ronnie before he got healthy but I was waiting for one decent performance from him...and he hits 40+. So I thought I'd wait for him to have an off week but he's been solid since then.

So now I'm trying to package J. Lewis(cold) and C. Chambers(hot) to a person who's best WR is I. Bruce and has M. Barber, R. Grant, and L. Johnson. He's considering it right now.

My WR's are solid with TO, Chambers, Coles, Reggie Brown, R. Williams and K. Curtis, and my RBs aren't so hot. LT, J. Lewis, T. Jones, and S. Morris.

I think Jamal Lewis, T Jones and some others will start doing better later in the year because they play in cold cities and they will start to run more once weather becomes a factor

Who should I start at my 2 running back slots???

Westbrook vs. 49ers
D. McAllister vs Oakland
Edge vs. Dallas
E. Graham vs Panthers

Yeah Chambers is likely out this week but right now he's a top 10 WR and scored in all but one game, so he's still had a solid start even if he misses one game which is still iffy at this point. My guess is they hold him out as a precaution though.

Breaston since Boldin is still likely out with the face surgery.

And ^ is tough.
Westbrook if healthy since SF has a tendency to give up a lot on the ground.
If not I'd go Deuce and hope for some vulture action. Hightower is taking all of Edge's TD opportunities and I expect the Panthers to try and make Garcia beat them.

^^ If Westbrook plays, he is a must start. The way the Panther D bottled up LJ last week, I would be scared to start Graham. James vs Dallas might work because it could be a high scoring game, but Dallas could jump out to a big lead and then the Cards will just throw every down. Deuce is a gamble at best

tentatively i'd say westbrook and edge

Carolina hasn't allowed a 100 yard rusher all year, and they've already faced LT, AP, Michael Turner, Larry Johnson...and Graham is going to be splitting carries with Warrick Dunn

Oakland's run defense isn't anything special, but who knows how much New Orleans will use Deuce? He was solid the last 2 years, but I'd wait til he can put up 50-60+ yards in consecutive weeks before I start him...Westbrook is obviously a beast, ASSUMING HE PLAYS, and despite Hightower being the goal line back for Arizona, Edge is a solid play to get 80+ yards...if Breaston continues to play well in Boldin's absence, Dallas won't be able to load up the box

Roddy White vs. Chicago?

or Torry Holt vs. Washington?

White's been tearing it up as of late, but Chicago's D is sick... Torry has had a bad year and with a new head coach, who knows what to expect... and Washington's D is pretty stout...

I'd play Roddy White.

Holy fuck. Looking ahead - week 9 I have 5 wr/rb's and my te on bye. I think I'm going to have to just toss the week and pray I win. We only have 4 bench spots and I can't really drop anyone haha.

^^The Bears do have a good run defense. Might be suprised if you look at their stats against the pass.

Yeah but I think alot of their average against the pass is inflated by that Griese game where he went nuts for over 400 yards.

So, I really only have one question mark on my team this week.

S. Slaton vs. Miami

or

R. Grant vs. Seattle

Keep in mind that Slaton has been a consistently good player the past three weeks(17, 17, 21) while Grant's best game of the season was only 8 points. Other than that he has sucked it up. Slaton is playing a good rush defense in Miami this week while Grant is up against the weak Seattle defense.

for your sake, I hope ryan grant gets his shit together because I am going with him this weekend.

i just have a feeling Grant is going to go back to last year's form at some point.

i don't trust slaton against the dolphins.

nice problem to have. my suggestion is to just wait until about 12:45 on sunday and then draw numbers out of a hat.

START 3:
Andre Johnson (vs. MIA)
Chad Johnson (vs. NYJ)
Bobby Engram (vs. GB)
Bernard Berrian (vs. DET)

im thinking andre/chad and then either engram/berrian...

^ Thats a toss up... personally I would play Warner, but thats just because he has been great for me since last season, I personally don't like Romo all too much. I think they are both a lock for two touchdowns, Romo probably has more upside though.

^^ I would, Colston is apparently coming back this weekend, though he probably won't get too much time. Now is probably your last chance to get a good deal on him.

i just made this trade.

i give:
kurt warner
mcgahee
deangelo williams

i get:
matt schaub
mcfadden
fargas

it's a keeper league (up to 4 players) and my RBs are in absolute shambles. i have drew brees as my starting qb, and a solid WR corps (cotchery, calvin johnson, holmes). my only other good rb is hightower.

it's a 14 team league.

thoughts? i mainly just felt like mcfadden has much higher keeper value than anyone else i had at RB and that he had more potential than mcgahee to blow up and have a strong rest of the year (once he's healthy). i also wanted to capitalize on deangelo's performance agains the chiefs b/c i don't expect that to happen again. they only get to play the chiefs once, after all.

I think you play Warner if you get 6 points for TD and Romo if you only get 4

Warner will probably be throwing most of the game but will have a couple picks as well

Romo will throw early, but not as much later in the game if they're winning as I suspect they will be

I think you have got to play Romo. The Cards D gave up 6 TDs to Favre and if not for Wilson death blow on Edwards, the Bills probably would have had 300+ yards too. Shit ass JP Losman put up good stats after Edwards was killed.

Pick 3:
TO @ Ari *
L. Coles vs. Cincy *
R. Brown @ SF *
Roy Williams @ Minny
C. Chambers vs Ne (Q, likely out)

Basically would you replace any of the starters with Roy Williams this week? He and R. Brown both had productive games last week but I think this whole McNabb blog and team meeting thing will hopefully spark that O.

there's a guy in my league who's last and appears desperate. i'm thinking of offering deangelo williams for steven jackson. good trade for me? my other backs are AP, hightower, chris perry, and thomas jones. i rarely play deangelo because i've got good receivers for my flex spot, and he's pretty hit or miss

He has not yet been ruled out for Week 6, and has a chance to play if he can practice Friday. He burned the Saints for 110 receiving yards and a score in Monday's exciting win, and has another favorable match-up this weekend against the Lions' 29th ranked pass defense."
