Itll be a long time till kungen ventures into act 2+ krip hqs basically the best gear possible and still gets man handled in 3/4. Hes got 1100 all resists~ and 11k armor and still gets pooped on by the affixs

^^yea. I have a barb and a DH. Barb is amazingly easy. I'm teaming up with a guy that plays as a wizard, and on the low level we are at right now, hes lucky to hit anything before i have swung and flung them 20 feet. I'm in the spider dungeon with my Level 13 DH right now. Just found a 20dps bow. I've found a good number of yellow items...still no legendary. I'm guessing that comes later in the game though.

fuck this game. you cant fucking kite shit because of the lag. you cant see farther than 10 feet in any direction, so you cant fucking fight shit at range. any time an enemy attacks with an aoe or cast the actual aoe range is like 2x the visible range. its fucking shit

Finished clearing Act 1 Inferno solo tonight. Some of those elite packs are ridiculously hard. Liked the Butcher's enrage timer. Shocked to find that elite packs have their own enrage timers in Inferno?! Christ that shit can be tough. Butcher + 5 stacks of Valor dropped ok loot, but nothing amazing. Got my first set of blacksmithing plans off a mob in the jails. Yellow high-end chest with 4 random mods.

Soul Lasher champ packs can go fuck themselves. I don't care what modifiers they have, they're awful.

Hell complete. Farming for the pony level now (have everything but the plans).

So I cleared 4 acts on three different difficulty levels and never saw a green or a legendary. woo.

Now I have an MF set to switch to right before things die.

Ive seen 1 legendary and no greens.

I think there are some bs aspects to the game as far as difficulty goes, but that is what this kind of game has. If you get a bad roll on champion or rare modifiers its going to be hell.

IIRC in D2 you could use a TP to get back to town and more often than not the monster's modifiers would reroll when you came back. Of course this may have been in SP only. I know I did that more than a few times on those occasions where Diablo would be immune to physical.

I dont think it worked that way I believe you had to create another game since mob modifiers were generated when each dungeon was.

When I first got into hell difficulty and you get to that part in act 1 where you leave the town and venture out we ran into basically an unkillable champ spawn for the group we had(4 of us, just a random public group but all just starting in hell) and the one guy kited the mob back into town. I guess there isn't any type of setup where guards will show up and kill them off or they'll disappear, so the the mob just sat in town and we couldn't go back to complete any quests or anything. Just had to leave the game and start a new one.

We kited things to town when we first started inferno and ran into a champion pack. Its useful to have the guards tank a mob for a few seconds. Well, I guess that only matters if the big issue is survivability. If you also have DPS issues, then that won't help.

So far, I think everything has been fairly doable up until Inferno Act 2. That's quite a different struggle. Not sure if I should continue balancing survivability and DPS or go all out DPS with the WD. Maybe I'll go all out when in a group and balance on my own.
I've change my WD skills to be more control for now. The zombie wall is actually very helpful to keep things away from you since mobs can't run past it. I love using it on the Butcher to make him slam into it with his charge.

Btw, which is better for early farming? Act 1 Inferno or Whimsyshire Hell? I'm guessing Whimsyshire Inferno is geared toward people who have completed that difficulty (or am I wrong?).

^^^the zombie wall is extremely useful. during boss fights, you'll notice there's often several choke points around the perimeter of the fighting area. you can definitely use the wall to your advantage there, too.

^Haha, our Monk says the opposite. Just to stay alive he stacks nearly all defensive stats and still gets wrecked. Clear and kite (aka ranged) seems like the more effective option so far.

Playing with friends so far has been great. I've noticed that we each watch for stupid stuff and laugh when the other person dies. Like trying to rez someone who died in a desecrated patch (or fire trap for that matter). Or trying to rez someone when there are mortar packs out. Or the absurdity or Vortex/Jailor/(insert Frozen, Arcane, Desecration here).

Our favorite is the molten packs. The delay after you kill one before the explosion is just perfect. I've jumped back to my childhood and keep saying "We're gonna need another Timmy!" each time, haha.

I got my fiancee into it the other night. She's never gamed before other than playing the first three levels in SWTOR. She likes this much better in terms of controls and ease of getting used to playing. She started with the monk and fell in love with what she calls her "fire tornado kick". Haha. She soloed through the Skeleton King with me watching and giving pointers. I promptly set her up with a bnet account and bought her the game while downloading it on my other machine. Now she has a monk of her very own while I rolled a DH so that we may play together.
