Ryan, who was the only Liverpool player tweeting used to originally tweet with the handle @RyanBabel09, however after receiving a bunch of harassing messages he decided to change his handle to @Protunez and later changed it to @Official_Babel. He protected his updated and was very picky on who he allowed to follow."

wtf... Chamakh to Liverpool in the summer? That kind of came out of nowhere

I really really hope that doesn't mean they're planning on selling Torres or Gerrard

edit: it's just a rumor right now but it's the first I've ever seen of it

If they don't make the top 4, there's no way that goes through. They simply can't afford it.

Does Tottenham's Croluka play as dirty in real life as he does on FIFA 10? His slide tackles of death have injured my players in every game against them, and he's been sent off each game for multiple bookings.

More Lolverpool drama.

EDIT:

Here's one from the Guardian where it states Hicks Jr's words were actually "Blow me, fuck face" (LOL) rather than the ever more tasteful "Go to hell" that the first article alleges.

yeah, but being out of every competition already is disappointing enough

Even though it pains me to say it, maybe they should sell Gerrard and Torres, sack the fuck out of Rafa, and rebuild everything

damn I feel dirty for even suggesting that

Man i was thinking today, it might not be such a bad idea if they sell Torres. He gets hurt all the time and they'll never get more money for him than they would now. He's what 26? They could get like 50-80 mil for him i bet. They could buy a whole team with that money. Hopefully it wouldn't be Rafa buying the Lucas' and Dossena's, but they could get a good squad for that money. They'll probably need it if they don't qualify for the champions league.

i don't think they can ever sell Gerrard tho. He's liverpool for life.

yeah but they won't get shit for anybody else they sell, except for Masch (so I guess they might as well sell him too). They could probably get 100+ if they sold all three of those guys and they could use all that cash to bring in a lot of good young players and build an actual squad.

Of course I'll be pissed if Torres or Gerrard go anywhere else*, but sometimes you just have to deal with shit like that

*I'll definitely be pissed if they leave AND Rafa is still coach. Rafa needs to go before any of the fire sale/buying new players start

Americans and Arabs are both great at running English football clubs into the ground.

Man U does have the ability to generate a ton more revenue than Liverpool, however.

Yeah, that's why they're pushing for a bigger stadium like OT.

I'm certainly not a Hicks/Gillett fan but I think it's a bit overblown how horrible they've been for the team. Aquilani hasn't panned out quite yet, but at least the money was made available to make the purchase. I honestly figured they'd just pocket the Xabi money or pay down some debts with it.

I don't see every United fan flipping out because they didn't make any purchases after getting the Ronaldo cash and then not making any moves during January when they obviously need some reinforcements. Fergie can act like it's his decision but there has to be something else at play there as far as the owners go. And don't tell me United is that much more talented than the current Liverpool team. It's all about coaching and player effort/attitude and Liverpool just doesn't have either at the moment.

As far as I'm concerned, United's stock is in decline as well. I don't think their fans would argue that their future looks any better than it did the year before.

Yeah, I know United fans hate them. But it hasn't stopped them from winning trophies. That's all I'm saying - Liverpool fans can bitch and moan all they want about the owners but they do have Torres and Gerrard and a squad capable of way better than what we're currently seeing. And missing Alonso should not account for the serious drop in form they've seen.

I think Rafa has to go, not because of tactics, transfer dealings, squad selection, etc. (although he's been pretty poor at all those things this year), but because Liverpool just looks like they don't want to play for him anymore. He's completely lost this team, in my opinion. And I'm sure all those other things have affected the locker room, but if he can't change their attitude and inspire some sort of effort, he's got to go.

Pretty terrible game so far. This Degen kid looks plain awful. I'll bet Rodriguez replaces him in the second half. Liverpool is in trouble if this is what their lineup consists of for the next few weeks. I know Aquilani hasn't proved anything since he's been there, but why is Rafa playing 6 full backs?

I think the ref made the right call on Lucas too. It was close, but it definitely seems like he starts to go down before any contact. Funny thing is if he ran through the ball he probably would have gotten the penalty too. Instead, goal kick and he picks up a yellow. LOL(verpool).

Everton to beat Man City at 12:30 pm EST today. Mancini to pick up first loss as City manager. You heard it here first, folks.

Fitting that Liverpool's best player in the game was Kyrgiakos.

Other notes:

Rafa must have read my post at the half, because Maxi replaced Degen and Aquilani came on for Ngog, who was awful.

Great ending. Stoke score in the 90th minute to tie it up and Kuyt almost won it at the last second.

Aquilani actually looked good for his three touches of the ball. Why Benitez started out with six backs is beyond me.

Why, so you can watch how a real club from Merceyside plays?

Come on, you Toffees!
