^^^i disagree. they played like it was the first time they've seen each other since copa america. france didn't play much better. overall, i thought it was a pretty terrible game.

^games like this are usually saved for the last game of group play, when both teams know that they'll advance safely. this game blew hard. it wasn't for a lack of effort, but rather a lack of chemistry on both sides. once the game became 10 v 11, uruguay went into "penalty kill" mode and was happy just to get the point. that last 5-10 minutes sucked. give france the ball at midfield, and let them try something. uruguay wins a tackle, and resets the ball at midfield. *thumbs down - fart noise*




V i thought the first game was pretty exciting. plenty of action. that game could have easily been 1-1, 2-2, 3-3. just a couple of bad breaks/great goaltending kept the score low

^^^^ it was only a man up for 10 minutes.. and teams usually approach their first group stage game with "not losing" more important than winning. Great defense from Uruguay but that will only get them so far.

first off, by bad luck from the first two games, 3 out of 4 teams suck,
and besides how good a game is is not usually judged by how many goals are scored
you can have an enormously exciting 0-0 game, unfortunately ESPN hyped this cup to gain new fans and they delivered two terrible matchups to kick off the cup
