vinyl, you've made valid arguments to justify ward's importance to this team, but you can't take this game, even with the 41 to 17 shot differential and say that ward is the reason carolina (8th seed barely) is doing so well

using wards' play tonight (and the natural talent carolina has) the hurricanes should be a 6th seed

to the other more recent posts, my point is that cam ward is inconsistent. he's been inconsistent since the cup year. there are moments where he shines like the greatest goaltender to have ever played the game. then there are times where he lets 4 goals in in 10 minutes and gets pulled for the rest of the game. just annoys me that he'll get all of the praise for taking the canes somewhere but whenever he does bad the excuse always falls on the defense.

I hope he doesnt get rid of LaRose, he is a fan favorite around here, so if it came down to Chad and Sergei I would think he would part with Sergei quicker. But then again, I have no idea what their contracts look like and Rutherford has got rid of fan favorites in the past, so I could be completely wrong.

Personally I like the way both of them have been playing lately and would hate to see either of them go

I'd rather hold onto LaRose not only because he's a fan favorite, but he's younger and can play on the PK. We do need to lose one of our many 3rd/4th line wingers of which we have too many right now.
