Don't buy the hype. I put $50 on FSU under 10 wins this season. EJ Manuel hasn't shown me shit. You know they aren't beating OU and likely will lose to one of UMD/NCSU. They probably finish 8-4/9-3.

^^I agree with you on EJ Manuel, I'm not sold on him either. I still think the division is theirs for the taking. Not necessarily saying us or Md couldn't win it. I'd be surprised if FSU didn't win it, though.

florida state does this every preseason, and they haven't finished in the top five in more than a decade. they might be the ones to shoot themselves in the foot the least, but they are far from being champs before they even play a game.

i for one am fine with fsu getting overrated year after year. it just keeps their fanbase constantly unsatisfied as the season progresses and by the end of the year bowden stadium is almost empty as the fan base gets let down and pissed off. pretty funny to see. hopefully they'll get pounded by OU and pushed around by clemson and lose some 'hype' early on

but of course they'll think they are hot shit ready for a BCS after beating duke/wake/ and then maryland in a row..

perfect timing for us to show up and give them a reality check in their dome.

i didn't totally agree with that chick's analysis, probably because we are still nc state (its a ton better than anything Dinich normally does), but i agree with her assessment of FSU. That OL, while good, is beatup, and if OU beats them up more, and can rattle Manuel (he's a head case), the wheels could fall off FSU halfway thru the season. Manuel presses like crazy. What will keep FSU in every game this year is still their D though.

Someone refresh me, I can't recall the circumstances or the game... but iirc, it was year before last, Rashard Smith was returning a kick, looked like he might go all the way, then someone caught his facemask and about ripped his head off. I was at the game, so needless to say, my memory is a little fuzzy.

to make matters worse, it's not like Rashard was streaking down the field and all the officials were running to catch up. You can see in the replay that a ref was in front of him, looking directly back at him from no more than 15 yards away. I was fightin' mad after that, esp. since it could've been a difference maker.

result -> touchdown and probably win the game 10-7

scenario 2: the guy decides to facemask him, and the refs call the penalty
result -> get the ball almost near the redzone

scenario 3: facemask, no call from refs
result -> no touchdown, get the ball at midfield basically

of course the law of ncstate shit is we get the worst possible.

in the nfl it would have been reviewed, get the ball downfield 15 yards and fucking fine for the dick that almost ended his career. nope nothing for the SEC. fucking fucks. i'm still pissed.
