Three match ban for Giroud then. That is a killer. He won't be back until the last day.

Yeah harder than it should have been... and losing Giroud for 3 hurts a lot.

But at least Arsenal keeps up their lead at getting red cards.

Spurs needs all three tomorrow desperately.

"Manchester City boss Roberto Mancini has not conceded defeat in the title race, according to his assistant Brian Kidd.

Roberto Mancini still has hope of Manchester City defending their Premier League title
• Kidd: City can still do double
• City only fighting for trophies

Mancini has insisted it is "impossible" his side, who are 13 points behind Manchester United, will retain their crown.

But Kidd said that it is a public front that Mancini has put on and revealed that, behind the scenes, the Italian still retains hope he can win the Premier League and is telling his players it is feasible.

"You don't need to tell me the boss has given the title up," Kidd said. "He may come in to you lads [the press] and say that like he did last year, but he has not. It was the same last year.""

I'm still buzzing.

The three subs all had a huge impact and the switch to the 433 proved to be the difference. I'm glad AVB recognized that early and went ahead and pulled the strings before it got too late in the match.

This win will do wonders for the dressing room on the run in too. They have to be full of confidence after that.

Bayern should be able to get him at a discount now

3-5 separated by 2 points and Spurs/Chelsea have a game in hand

I've been saying for weeks that it is coming down to the last match day for the two champions league spots

Spurs play Sunderland at WHL

Arse play Newcastle at St James

Chelsea play Everton at Stamford Bridge

just can't get over this

best part is that he sees a teammate coming to cross the ball to him and decides he'd rather bite ivanovic than anything else. probably just as productive as a gerrard cross though, amirite?

You'll have to wait for the new schedule to come out in a few months. But the season started August 18th last year so it looks like you'll be there right around the first weekend of games.

I'm sure there will be preseason games you could check out earlier too. Not exactly the same as the real thing but I'm sure it'd be easier to find good tickets.

^^^
that cross was never gonna get to Suarez...Bertrand had it covered. He lost nothing by biting Ivanovic.

(except reputation, the next 3-8 games, and maybe his career at Liverpool)

well, maybe if he'd dropped back a bit, instead of plunging forward and digging into Ivanovic, the angle would've made the cross possible...never mind the above.

Difference between Suarez and Defoe? Well its quiet simple, Suarez does stupid shit more often and has done the exact same thing before. He is a vile cunt simply because he is very consistent at proving just how stupid he really is.

Clearly there's a difference between the two people.

The incident, on the other hand, is pretty much exactly the same. There's no reason Suarez deserves a ban longer than the 3 game "violent conduct" ban when headbutts, tackles, etc. don't get more than that. But he'll get more because it's Suarez and because everybody is outraged at an incident that didn't even result in any kind of injury to the victim for some reason. Don't even think Defoe got any games for his bite, just a yellow card.

Suarez has some serious problems and I'm beyond the point of trying to defend him but it's just funny to see everybody so outraged at the moment. It was more shocking than "violent" or "dangerous".

Fair enough. Although I will say Defoe had more of a reason to be angry with Mascherano. Suarez does it out of the blue, without being provoked. Defoe should have gotten a ban for his reaction too but your past defines you and well Suarez has had quiet a past.

I dunno, dude...for me, biting somebody is in a different class from headbutting and hard tacking. it transcends mere violent conduct and enters the realm of the crazy

it's almost comparable to him pulling out his dick and waving it at the crowd...it's just way, way outside the bounds of acceptable human behavior.

if he gets more than a standard 3-game suspension, I won't be surprised, or think it unfair.

Not that anyone cares but here's my opinion...I think Suarez should get the same punishment he got last time he bit someone with some more games tacked on because this is a repeat offense and the extraordinary nature of it (I draw a distinction between what passes for a headbutt in football and actually grabbing someone's arm and biting them).

and I think the Defoe incident will be treated differently because in that case the ref saw what happened and dealt with it how he saw fit as it happened. In this case with Suarez the ref says he never saw it and nothing happened on the pitch so the FA can hand down whatever punishment they want and they won't be calling a ref's decision into question.

well yeah. But if the ref sees Suarez yesterday and gives him a yellow, everybody would be fine with just a yellow? c'mon son.

^ i didn't say everyone would be cool with simply a yellow card, but at least suarez/liverpool would have a leg to stand on to argue for no additional punishment or just a short ban.

also i think if the FA had dropped a lengthy ban on Defoe for what he did nobody would've objected. biting somebody is insane.

Let me clarify what I said this:

Quote :
"There's no reason Suarez deserves a ban longer than the 3 game "violent conduct" ban when headbutts, tackles, etc. don't get more than that."

I have no problem with a lengthy ban for biting somebody but when you look at the FA's past suspension behavior, a lengthy ban for biting somebody that didn't result in any kind of injury is a joke when you can destroy somebody's legs with a horror tackle and only get three games.

So what I meant by "there's no reason Suarez deserves" was "if we're going by past events and past events alone, he shouldn't receive more than 3 games." I think the FA wants to make an example out of Suarez and it's easy to do because 99.9% of the Premier League fans despise him.

To be clear, I'm not defending Suarez and/or the bite, but the incident shows hypocrisy on so many levels for fans (surely some fans of Defoe felt differently when it was their guy doing the biting) and the FA. He's an easy target and he makes himself an easy target by doing ridiculous things on the field.
