It's kind of pricey but lasts a long time and worth it. You should be able to buy it at any of the Aveda salons around or the Institute in Chapel Hill. " |
Do you know what the product is called exactly? Sounds like that is what I'm looking for!12/12/2011 8:44:04 PM |

It's one of 2 products I use. That and this
Aveda Sun Care Protective Hair Veil
My hair and scalp are very sensitive to sun damage or whatever. I love it, except the fact that it smells like a hippie.
I'm going to get the After Sun Hair and Body Cleanser and After Sun Hair Masque for this summer. The family I will be working for next year has a pool and want me to be outside with the kids at least 4 out of the 5 days each week. I'm fine with it, but my hair will be very sad.

So I went into a salon and talked to some ladies about the aveda madder root. I ended up purchasing the color conserve shampoo and conditioner. I never buy products from a salon so I had no idea how much more expensive this stuff is. I will try to conserve it as much as possible and I think it helps that I am trying to wash my hair every other day.

Saw a couple of signs in Belk tonight for a Belk 'personal shopper' lady that picks out clothes for you and teaches you how to shop. DivaBaby19 needs to take that up as a side job. TWW ladies will support you in your first month of employment

Ladies, the girlfriend wants a pair of UGG or Ugg-like boots for Christmas. She's mentioned that she wants them just to run errands and wear casually around so she doesn't necessarily need the real UGG. Is there a big difference between the shoe store brands and the authentic in terms of comfort or quality that would make me really need to get the real thing? 12/13/2011 11:06:56 AM |
DivaBaby19 Davidbaby19 45208 Posts user info edit post |
She doesn't care about the brand until she puts on a pair of real UGGS (like I did)
Then she will want to live in them even though they're the ugliest shoes ever.
Break down and get her the basic short UGGS....they're fantastic 12/13/2011 11:10:33 AM |

My classmate was telling me the original UGGs were made in New Zealand, but you can't get them anymore because they are made in China now or something. She mentioned the quality isn't as good... idk. I did notice hers have this pattern going up the back
Anyway, don't let that affect your decision 12/13/2011 2:09:44 PM |

I know right
I went to a craft bazaar a few weekends ago and loved a necklace so much, Eric "bought" it for me aka I used his credit card and he doesn't have to try and find it for me
So, I need help with sun protection. Anyone have any good sunblocks they use daily that aren't your typical sunblocks? Or any good daily face sunblocks? My skin is so ridiculously sensitive to the sun nowadays... I was in the car for less than an hour, and outside for less than an hour, and I feel like I got burned. IDK what the hell is going on with me. 12/13/2011 9:09:20 PM |

I second Aveeno: their moisturizers with SPF are the only ones that don't irritate the hell out of my skin.

SOREL! They are outstanding. I have their snow boots (I cannot say how much I love them, they got me through all of our ski trips last year, not to mention our nearly 70 inches of snow last winter), and I recently got a pair of their rain boots. Ruelala has had some on sale recently (and I believe they are having another hodge podge shoe sale that might include them), but I really think they are an amazing product. And I am rough on my shoes 12/15/2011 2:05:31 PM |

HI YOU GALS
i just came to say that i FINALLY (after talking about it for a year, like over a year really - my last haircut was aug 2010 i believe. maybe sept. either way, bad) got my haircut. we've talked about this before, but for whatever reason (lots of bad cuts) i'm always terrified and NEVER go to the same place because i never like anything. WELL i FOUND a place that is both affordable AND good.
AQUA an aveda salon off creedmor road (its way far down like almost to 540 BUT worth it IMO). i called and got an appt with the lowest level people. ended up with this girl, mckenzie and she was trendy and awesome and did exactly what i wanted and i really like the cut!!! that never happens, so i figured i'd post about it. esp with all the aveda talk on the top of this page - it seems to fit in!!! so it was $35 including the tip. that is like, the cheapest haircut ever. PLUS it was quality. shampoo + cut + blow dry/style (and i never like how they style it, but she did a great job...normally they give me like a 1982 blowout and i'm like, no, that is not in style anymore. but this girl was young and knew what was up) = $25. i was done in about 45minutes.
it was a really good experience...esp for me, someone who has had lots of bad haircut experiences. so if anyone is looking for a cheap but quality place i'd def recommend aqua and mckenzie! http://www.aquasalonnc.com/menu
and i don't get anything for referrals or anything. i just honestly am really pleased with the price and cut. and she was really nice.
