Infidelity is only a symptom of a deep fundamental problem in a relationship. While the extra marital affair may make you happier or a better spouse, all it is really doing is taking your focus off of the problems in your marriage. It's like taking painkillers instead of antibiotics to deal with a festering wound. It may make you feel better, but eventually you're going to lose your leg if you continue ignore the actual problem. I know that it's a silly analogy, but you get the point. The marriage will eventually fail if the reason that you feel the need to seek a connection with someone other than your spouse is not addressed. Even if the infidelity never comes to light.

Also, this is something that your marriage will never recover from and will cause deep irreparable hurt. It's not going to be the extra marital sex that is going to destroy your spouses, but the long term deception and willful disregard of their feelings. It's not just the sex, it's repeatedly acting with the knowledge that it will hurt your spouse and deceiving them to spare yourself the fallout. And there will be fallout. It will destroy both marriages and multiple friendships. The most understanding spouse and friend will not be able to get over repeated and long term betrayal.

Plenty of married people have sexual outlets outside of their marriage, but it's really only successful when there is a foundation of honesty and trust. You're pretty much blowing that out of the water.
