9/11 is tied to the Iraq war. Without 9/11, the government would have had a much harder time selling the war in Iraq. The 9/11 attacks and the supposed threat from "al Qaeda" was a large part of the reason for going to war, because the Bush Administration was saying that if Iraq had WMDs, they could pass them off to terrorists.

Also, the blatant deception to go to war in Iraq plainly illustrates that the U.S. government (and this Administration in particular) will lie and use deception to start wars. I.E., if they lied about Iraq's "WMD threat" to go to war, why wouldn't they lie about 9/11 (the overarching pretext for all these wars).

there is a huge difference between iraq and 9/11. some of us knew that we had no reason to inade iraq in the first place, and there was a lot of reason to think the president was lying then. we have since had people within the government show how he was wrong.
