^lol, anyone that was excited for "the dude" should have been shot on site. 7'3 prospects are never ready to play their freshman years....even the ones that turn out to be really good(think of the georgetown kid...he's solid now, but his freshman year i can imagine he was shit) Much less one that weighs about 230 lbs, lol

But in all fairness, who can say how a project can develop over 4 years. I'm pretty sure anyone who was excited for Bart was basing that on potential.

There's an article on Rivals that says Derrick Favors and Noel Johnson are both looking at State and might be a package deal. Anyone have any specifics on this? According to Rivals Favors doesn't even have us on his top 8 list so I didn't know if there was more to it than the list of teams.

If we could manage to get Favors, Hamilton, and Johnson, that would be one of the top classes in the nation if not the top. Now the only question is do we have the scholarship spots available for that many players for the 2009 class? And still have one for Leslie in the 2010 class?

^sick, we will have plenty of spots after hickson and costner go. i think there is a good chance one or the other goes next year, but I am 100% sure both are gone by 09, barring injuries. that leaves 4 roster spots.

That's awesome, that means we could potentially get all 3 in the '09 class and still get Leslie in the '10 class.

Sidney really is blazing the recruiting trail. Hopefully our '08 recruits will end up in the 4-star range and we can pull in these big names for the '09 class.

Does anyone have a membership over at Rivals and let us know if there is anything meaningful in this article? I mean it says they are interested in us but Favors doesn't even have us on his list of teams on Rivals. But maybe they just haven't updated it recently.

Quote :
"NC State assistant Larry Harris is recruiting Favors and his AAU teammate, wing Noel Johnson, for the Wolfpack. Favors has yet to visit NC State, and he is still trying to learn more about the program.

"I havne't made a visit yet, but I want to try and to do that when I can," he said. "I know the coaches are cool... I've watched them on TV whenever they played." "

hope he saw the first state unc game

also a good sign larry is recruiting them, he is a great recruiter. with lowes help, could be great news

I just hope we can keep Larry Harris around. If he isn't being paid what some of the top assistants are, then there's something wrong. He's a great recruiter and can coach big men very well. Just look at how far McCauley and Costner came from their first year, to the beginning of this season, and how they were at the end of the season. Before this season no one besides State fans knew who they were, and now they are considered two of the top post players in the nation for next year.

^fuck em. The holes will always work their evil media ties against us. It will never end as long as they comprise such a large portion of the local media.

What I wanna know is where are all you ppl who said that this Lowe Jr. scandal would fuck up recruiting for us? Ooooh, Roy and K will use this against Sidney, who will want to send their son toa school where the head coach's son did THAT?!?!! Seems like we are doing just fine at the moment especially since we are already landing top 10 recruits for the 2010 class.

"Perhaps coincidentally, according to Scout.com, State's 2008 class has two three-star commitments with possibly two more available scholarships if Brandon Costner goes pro. None of the other prospects with at least medium interest carry more than two stars."

Of course, that has nothing to do with the fact that we received commitments from both of those guys before any of the crap with Sid's son happened, nor that we're not targeting anyone else in the class.

And he completely ignores the fact that we've since received a verbal from a very highly rated player in the class of '10, while pursuing three strong prospects in the class of '09 as well.

It's just a shitty article all around, meant to get people riled up.

Yeah, responses to this kind of mindless tarhole cock-a-shlobba derka derkerry don't do us any good. It only fires the bastard up to write more articles of that ilk. It will be around forever.

Notice how the website for the "star news" is faggy-hole blue and white? I don't know about the rest of you, but every time I am out in eastern NC I notice that if they arent bleeding purple and yellow, then they are UNC fans.....

this guy has actually written a number of good articles on us as well. I just think he got bored and wrote an article on nothing. He actually responded to my e-mail and was very nice...saying it was bad timing but his opinion that lowe should make a statement stands. I can handle that.

The last time our bastketball program got some steam behind it and had a solid coach, how did we fall apart? Tarholes in the media (and also directly from the D. Smith staff) making accusations and working their asses off to discredit the coach and the program by delving into their personal lives and actions off the court.... The holes are obviously hoping to do much the same to sidney as they did to V.... Good thing Sid is clean as a whistle and all they have is this crap about his dumbass son....

"Atlanta Celtics PF Derrick Favors: WOW! Favors has been the most impressive player we've seen thus far, and it isn't really close. This morning, he reportedly posted a 24-point, 17-rebound, 13-block performance (unofficially) effort and he followed that with a 15-point, six-rebound, four-block outing against a pesky squad based out of Philly.

At 6-foot-9, Favors has great hands around the basket, snatches every rebound at its highest point, and has a knack for blocking shots and keeping them on the floor. He's athletic and strong in the paint... an intimidator. If there are five better prospects than him in the 2009 class, then that class is REALLY loaded.

His strong play helped the Celtics advance out of pool play, and currently he claims no leader as he is open to "everyone." This is going to be one of those elite recruitments, as Favors is the total package
"

If Sid can get this guy, and the Johnson kid, we will be loaded.
