Yeah, Im not surprised that the world was told that flight 815 was found with no survivors. Its kinda makes sense to provide a fake explanation as opposed to leaving it without any explanation to put their family/friends minds' at rest. I mean, as far as anyone knows there is no island out there and that plane has been lost for over 3 months. You would have to assume they are dead also, so whats the real harm in announcing that they found the plane and that there were no survivors? That also explains why Penny is the only one actively searching for Desmond (as opposed to family/friends of 815 survivors): he wasnt on the plane.

Also each person on that plane was put there by some psychic or some kind of chain of events that they have hinted at but have yet to disclose. It wouldnt be a stretch to say that the "magic box" (codename: jacob?)made all that happen and provided for a coverup as to what happened to the plane. However, in the end, I wasnt that impressed with this episode and I am a huge LOST fanatic. I guess the whole Sun pregnacy thing just doesent get me going.... (anyone else think that her father was in cahoots with Jin's mom and the $$ made it back to him anyways? I think it was a bit too convenient that he had the $$ in the safe and so willingly gave it and came up with the payment of Jin's servitude. He did all this in retribution for Jin's coverup of his heritage to make him a hitman for life)

but now the mom knows she can get money from them, and Sun will do anything to keep Jin from knowing the dishonor of it all. And I like how Sun sells Jin up the river and turns him into her dad's gangster person, and then tries to leave him for becoming who she (sort of) turned him into

and isn't that a problem inherent with all blackmail? if it is based on info, there is always a risk that the person comes back through the turnstiles for more cash later based on the same information. Short of killing Jin's mother, which I am not sure she was prepared to do, there is no real way to prevent this, except to hope that the person committing the blackmail will honor the deal. (I know this is a bit ridiculous b/c they are blackmailing in the first place)

but good point on the problems with blackmail, I hadn't thought about any sort of honor involved in the system, but I suppose there should be some since the woman DID just get $100,000 and she knows she screwed her son (and son's new wife) over in the process.

Whatever happened to him? Last I remember he was with the hot chick when they went to the Others' camp and she and Sayid had him at gunpoint. oh yeah, and the creators of Lost came out and said that the characters are NOT dead and are not in purgatory



I was thinking earlier about the "different timelines" theory and how it would be wild if the helicopter woman was from the future (if the Lost island is really on a different, slower timeline than the rest of the world) and if she is foreshadowing to the eventual end of the series where the island is finally discovered, along with the plane wreckage, but all the passengers are dead.

I know its almost certainly not true, but its an interesting theory

Kinda like the black chick did before he killed her 5 episodes ago (she told him to do so in portuguese). I think she could be bullshitting about the flight being found with no survivors. I think at this point it is as likely as not that she could be one of them.... She's also pretty bangin': got them pucker lips and that dark sassy look to her...

^^ Yeah, thats a cool idea.

I think Dharma (or the others or Widmore if he's behind one of the other groups), simply knew that the real plane crashed inside the island's "bubble" and the button not getting pushed made the island visible briefly, so to prevent everyone from finding the island, they placed some wreckage and bodies nearby. They certainly have the resources for something like that.

There will be flashbacks this week, but not the usual type of flashback. The flashbacks will be of Locke and what he's been doing since he saw his dad tied up a few episodes ago. So the flashbacks will be of things on the island, kind of like the Nikki and Paulo episode.
