well, here's the thing. You can't just lolligag up the court like curry did. You're gonna need to fire up a shot with 5 on the clock for a possible offensive rebound from a miss. Also, you say curry screwed it up by not feeding the ball (which he did have wide open players a few times) but i guarantee that the play was for him to make space for a three. Just came down to a great finish and a bad last 3 minutes for the wildcats. Anyway, good run davidson... you ended up being the best team we beat!

^^Your argument was that Clemson, being a poor free throw shooting team, would not do well in a close game. Not only is a worse free throw shooting team (Memphis) in the final 4 after having played in a close game, but poor free throw shooting teams have done well this year in close games.

Record in one possession games:

Clemson (62%): 4-3
Memphis (61%): 3-0
Tennessee (62%): 8-2
Wagner (60%): 9-1

Free throw shooting is one of the most overrated statistics in basketball. As one of the most respected basketball minds, Dean Oliver, (link: http://tinyurl.com/3kl5tz) has found: Shooting (eFG%) is the most important, rebounding and turnovers are about half as important as shooting, and making free throws is about half as important as that. Clemson did not make the final 4, but I always choose a sleeper to get to the final 4. No matter what sleeper I would have chosen, they would not have made it.
