Quote :
"The other plane survivors are working for Widmore"

I thought this was obvious with Illana when she admitted to capturing sayid for his dealings with ben.

The shadow thing paralleled the smoke monster coming from below the hieroglyph of the statue.

I'm kind of on the fence with Locke. When christian first started appearing there was no indication either way that he already knew what he knows now, i'm sure it will be the same way with locke its just we are now seeing it from the revived perspective. The only question raised is, was christian on the island before? Before it seemed like the obvious answer was yes, but its hard to tell whether or not ben ever saw christian post crash. He did say that he'd never seen dead people come to life, but with ben we never know.

I was really hoping to see more of the temple.

Personally i believe Farraday will be in the body bag.

Overall best episode in a long while.

^^yep...that's what the sub-clouders said 3 seasons ago...

so how do you go from living in a camp on an island to becoming a billionaire corporate mogul?

He hasn't seemed to age since he was banished, albeit we don't know when that was we just know it was after the 70s because they had the sub & DI housing. Alex was i'd guess about 4 or 5 in that portion so i'd guess that was early/mid 80s. Though i'm confident that RA is still the only one who does not age on the island.

We also know that from last season or maybe the one before that ben also had tons of cash on the island.

Also we know now that the hostiles do know about the whispers. Juliet claimed not to which either means she was lying at the time or that she never fully became a hostile. She also did not know what cerebus was, and its evident know that the others knew exactly what it was, or at least what they had to do (rules etc) in order to stay on the island.

How do jacob's intentions tie into what cerebus would judge you for?

Alex was 16 in 2004, so she was born around 1988, and she looked like she was about 4 or so on the swing set so that puts Widmore's leaving around 92 or so. I'd say he looked at least 15 years younger when he left than he did any other time we've seen him.

that's a lot of assumptions

the whispers could be the others or it could be the monster--either way, Ben was warning Rousseau so she could stay alive

Ben knows what the monster is, but can we really say that all the others know what it is?

and who's to say that Juliet doesn't know more than she says? she never really answered locke about how old Richard is...

I say that because the others seemed weary of richard's decision of taking ben to the temple the first time.

"claimed not to know"

I can't decide if the writers are setting john up to appear to be inhabited by the monster or not. Ben tells sun that the monster is coming out of the island then locke appears. Locke goes away then the smoke monster comes out beneath the temple. I'm thinking this is trickery but i'm not sure yet.

and I say that because Ben seemed to be the only one who can summon the monster

and maybe they moved to the dharma camp to be inside of the sonic fence?

[Edited on April 9, 2009 at 12:04 AM. Reason : and obviously the dharma initiative knew about the whole egyptian thing?]

I guess living inside the sonic fence would protect them and give them the ability to do as they pleased without living in fear of the monster.

Horace definitely knew more than he appears to know. He appears in lockes jacob cabin dream and claimed to have built the cabin, ben lives in his house with the cerebus control thingy. What the fuck was that drain shit anyways.

So nobody's gonna talk about Ben actually claiming that he didn't remember the O6 being in the DI? Was he lying or did he really not remember?

Also this is kinda interesting. The game of Risk is (might be?) just the way that it was left from when Hurley and Sawyer were playing it in 2004.

the only way i see that happening is if the o6 gets kicked out of DI before ben goes back to the DI. However christian told sun to wait on locke, and now that ben has been judged locke can do whatever it is he needs to do with sun.

however i don't see it likely that Ben makes it back to the DI and no one mentions the o6 if they are gone, no matter what crazy shit goes down. I mean sawyer was head of security. He's going to have to answer for letting ben be taken to the others in some way. I figure shit like that would be a big deal, but might be ignored with whatever miles/marvin shit was going down next episode.

So I guess it was Anubis that judged Ben? I think they did a shitty job rendering the statue then, cause it did not have Jackal ears.

jack, sawyer, kate, jin, etc... will either A. leave the dharma initiative and escape or B. return to the future by the time ben eradicates the dharma folks...

and i too am curious about the drain...what was that supposed to symbolize? How did it work

Well he started talking to the drainage hole too, that was strange. Also, Ben's house (originally built by the Dharma Initiative) was obviously built directly over that the temple to call the smoke monster.

thats what i don't get.

They live inside the sonar fence, so Horace could potentially use it as a weapon without fear, but if the others knew the rules that they had to follow in order to please the smoke monster then who were they trying to harm?

WHAT IS THE DHARMAAAAAAA INITIATIVE fuckin a.

WHY WAS THE MILITARY THERE WITH A NUKE? EVEN IF IT WAS FOR TESTING, YOU DONT JUST STUMBLE UPON THIS ISLAND AND HAPPEN TO HAVE A NUKE. DID THE GOT'V KNOW ABOUT THIS BITCH?

i don't think that widmore or ben are evil, i just think they are in a disagreement and will manipulate anyone and put them against the other in order to maintain control of the island.

^agreed.

And the quote from Locke "I assure you I am the same man I was when you knew me before" to Sun should indicate that he is not smokey possessed.

He, like Richard and Widmore/Ben before him, is just doing the bidding of the island as only he can interpret it....

I really can't believe ceasar is gone so soon. they built him up and killed him the second they let ben use him. I mean there are already enough characters with loose ends, but geeze.

^then you would say Christian isn't possessed because he told ben to say hello "his son"? Remember he said that to sun, out of the blue and that he was not there when ben and sun were discussing it.

I think that while they aren't completely possessed they aren't exactly who they used to be and have some ties to either the entity of the island or jacob, if they are not one and the same.

Must have, the photo of the Dharma crews were still up so we assume not much has changed at all so the entrance to the ruins below the house must still exist. Who is living now in Ben's old house?

The preview looks like we will learn quite a bit about Dharma in the next episode.

Ben was the last person to live there...

Remember he lived there when keamy came which is right before the O6 left.

Before him Horace and maybe someone else before or after that.

I'm still not sure if it's really Christian or certain people see certain things.

NM, i guess it's really him cause Jack brought him his shoes.

i think john being revived and ben saying "i've never seen anything like this" whether he was lying or not confirmed that it was actually christian.

well ladies

April 25th podcast they confirmed that Harper was herself and not the monster when she appeared to juliet.

Also in this podcast they mentioned that when ben 'summoned' the monster the first time he was covered in soot, wat was that.

This episode was great for me up except for Ben's judgement scene. That just felt...cheesy.

I think Ben is still going to betray John.

I dunno, I was drunk and for whatever reason at the time I made a proclomation Jack is Christian. I know it's rediculous but I love to make crazy off the wall proclomations during the show. I do believe we have a big reveal coming up left for Jack that sets him apart from the rest of the losties.

what i don't get is how widmore keeps saying he's trying to find the island, but (if infact illana is working for him) he's managed to get people there twice?

He hasn't said that he's been trying to get back to the island, he's been saying he's searching for it as if he doesn't know where it is.

ben said, "well i'm going to do somethign you couldn't.." or something along those lines..

so maybe widmore knows where it is, but he just can't get to it himself

So Charles left and never returned and can't return?

But Ben comes and goes as he pleases.

Can Locke leave the island ever again, or is he bound to it for his "afterlife"?

Logic would lead me to believe that if locke leaves the island he would no longer be alive.

The writers have said multiple times that there is no reincarnation on this show. I still believe locke is in some way a manifestation of or would not be alive without the presence of jacob or the smoke monster or something.

I know the writers have gone back on things they've said before, but christian was seen walking around VERY early first season, its hard not to believe that they had this set up even back then.
