You lose because when you get UNC (Your arch rival, the school you hate more than any) down by 10 , the coaches take their foot off the accelerator and play pussy football. From the start of the 4th till the end we might as well have took a knee each play. If you get to the lead throwing deep, keep doing it until they STOP you.

The loss hurt, but I couldn't imagine the hurt we would all feel if State was actually a national championship caliber team and lost like USC, and Oregon State did this week.

9 yards per pass attempt. 2.2 yards per rush attempt.

Glennon had all the time in the world to hit receivers who were running free, and he did so regularly despite the drops and despite UNC applying a little more pressure in the 4th.

So, clearly, the correct strategy is to turtle up and rush the ball and play for overtime.

It is really unfathomable how bad our coaches are at coaching the games. Once someone admits that they can't do the job, you really can't tolerate them in that position. Our staff loudly told the entire fanbase that they don't know how to win games.

I think UNC has a pretty good running back that may have contributed to the loss.

I think UNC actually practices and tries to win games too. But since we lost, it has to be that our coaches suck.

Glennon was beating the blitz and picking up first downs. UNC blitzing did not stop our passing game. TOB did. Let's not rewrite the history of the game.

UNC loved TOB for doing what they couldn't.

One thing I'm kind of looking forward to seeing is to see if UNC tries to sell any of those big stadium shots of this game. We know they've doctored up photos in the past to try and take some of the red out of UNC-State games in Chapel Hill, based on what I saw yesterday they're gonna have to do it again.

After that huge gift at the end of the MD game I thought we were gonna have to play lights out to beat UNC just because we generally don't get too many huge breaks. That fumble went against us and so did the block in the back on Gio's return (although they probably would've kicked a GW FG anyway).

If we get that TD when we had it on their 15 and handed the ball off to Washington (putting the stops on the passing game on the final drive was awful, but we had them on the ropes and handed the ball of twice to our 3rd string RB and lost points because of it) then the game is over. Just too many missed opportunities from the coaching staff and WR's to win a close game late.

yeah they were mostly sending four as i recall.

we lost this game for two reasons and two reasons alone (both of which are actually just bad coaching): poor coverage of run of the mill trick plays and absolutely indefensible clock management in the 4th quarter.

they hurt, but you can only be so mad at an undergrad for dropping a football. those things happen, you just deal w/ it.

but a 64 year old just failing to secure a game or at least secure a tie solely via decisions when he's been doing this his entire life and is paid a very hefty salary only b/c he is supposed to be able to handle these situations is infuriating.

apparently they wore their regular helmets for warm-ups, then changed into the chrome ones before running onto the field.
