Glad they finally cancelled it. I still think Rodon should pitch game 2, but whatever. At least he'll be pitching on his normal rest by going tomorrow. Hate that tomorrow is basically a must win now for us.

From a bullpen perspective, it could make a difference. You are least likely to use the pen the least on the day Rodon pitches, so you'd rather that day come in the middle, to give your pen a day of rest between games 1 & 3.

Of course if Rodon goes in game 1 & has a brief outing (still a chance for rain tomorrow), perhaps you could conceivably bring him in from the pen in game 3.

You hope neither of those are issues, but there are reasons for each argument, even throwing the mental aspect aside.

I'd throw him game 2. That way if you win game 1 you are in a great position to advance. If we drop game 1 we have a great chance at getting to game 3.

Throw Rodon game 1 and lose then all the momentum will be gone IMO.

In one scenario you assume a Rodon W, in the other you assume a Rodon L. You can't make a valid comparison like that...

It doesn't really matter when we throw Rodon, as long as we avoid a mid-game rain delay.

This wouldve been like LSU pitching their #2 against Jonathan Gray. They didnt. They are the better team. They beat the #3 overall draft pick and now have a 1-0 lead.

The bullpen argument makes the most sense but is really a non issue and is splitting hairs. It's unlikely we have someone in the bullpen throw a ton of innings and want them to pitch the next day as well. Unless our starts just completely blow and half of our bullpen does as well. And then if that happens you are going to lose the series anyway so fuck it.
