I'm sure that's the case. But to be so removed from what garlic actually is to not understand "4 garlic cloves" in a recipe is impressive. I'm pretty sure the jars even have a conversion to how much minced stuff is equivalent to one clove.

It was a 4-ingredient recipe and there were SO MANY questions about stuff like that. One commenter basically said "really guys? there are 4 ingredients. how is it so hard?" and some people got their panties in a wad.

Reminds me of my old co-worker who was very confused when I told her I don't cook my broccoli in the microwave.

I met a teenager last summer in our cooking program who had never seen a real egg before. She literally thought eggs came in liquid form in a carton (like egg beaters) because that's what she grew up with. So the garlic clove thing doesn't seem too remarkable for me.

while I'm complaining about things, it's also annoying that the trend in recipe blogs is to post pictures for every step so it takes forever to get through a recipe. You showed me how to chop celery. You don't also need to show me how to chop the celery greens, then onions, then everything else.
