Ladies, what do you think of these plates? I've been wanting some white ones, was going to go with Oneida but this is way cheaper and I love all the bowls and hate how most sets come with too small mugs.

I may have to look at that site more....I've been wanting to replace my dinnerware for a while now and all white is what I'm looking for too! 1/26/2012 11:46:51 AM |

so I'm thinking about taking my hair color back to brown... being red is so expensive. 1/26/2012 11:48:44 AM |

Aww I looooove your hair red but I definitely understand the expense issue. I bet you'll be just as pretty brunette 1/26/2012 11:57:53 AM |

You'll still have the expense of the dye when you go back brown! It'll take years for your hair to grow back enough, even if you go to your natural color, that you won't notice a color difference. Mine took forever, and my hair was only chin length... 1/26/2012 12:00:10 PM |

It's stupid how hard it is to find plain white plates. I looked at the restaurant supply on S. Saunders and while the stuff was quality it was $120+ for a dozen dinner plates. Don't think I want to do that when most of my entertaining will involve large amounts of alcohol.
Sam, good luck on the hair. I've been afraid to get highlights or do anything to my hair because of the upkeep costs. 1/26/2012 12:10:07 PM |

Well, on second thought... I might keep it since my friend is moving in with me, and that'll ease up on budget costs. I figured I would dye it back to the light brown once and it would stay but I guess I would still have to deal with growing it out. I think last time it took 2 years to get all the dye grown out 1/26/2012 12:19:09 PM |

I've been highlighting my hair lightblonde but then I dyed it dark brown and after after awhile it faded out and left me with my natural color (dark blonde). No upkeep here. 1/26/2012 12:29:11 PM |

highlights definitely help with growing out if you don't want to chop it all off. In the past 3 years i went from blood red to something close to natural by getting highlights and letting it fade, I only had my hair done 3 times and i have been able to keep the length instead of just cutting it off where the dye ended after having two-tone hair forever.
you could try starting with a 3 color application of your natural color, the red you've been using, and a lighter shade. then in 4-6 months (i was still getting compliments on my hair regularly at this point, but maybe you'll want it in 2-3 months) have it redone, but you can just have the 2-color highlights with the red and the lighter shade. ask the colorist for a red that will fade to a pleasing shade alongside your natural color, they definitely aren't all created equal. 1/26/2012 1:54:52 PM |

So the plates at Macy's are a no go. Square ones wobble and the biggest bowls are still pretty small. They were ivory instead of bright white. So glad they had them in the store so I didn't order them. Now I have to wait for a sale at oneida.com or corelle. 1/28/2012 7:42:09 PM |

This is why I stopped dying mine red I miss it but it was expensive as hell & when I needed a touch up, my natural color looked grey growing in against the red1/28/2012 8:14:38 PM |

dying my hair myself tonight. b/c i'm bored and i can. and b/c my roots are showing and i don't want to pay to have it match all the fucking highlights and shit
last time i tried this, my hair turned black, so today i shall be attempting a medium rather than a dark brown
hopefully i do not fuck this up. again. 1/28/2012 9:41:17 PM |

so here is my at home hair dying experience[warning pic heavy b/c i am bored]. and it did not turn out as an epic fail this time. awesome
first off i'd like to say that my hairdo today was pretty badass and got lots of compliments today
it was easy. you should try it
so here is my before color pics. i dyed it a red with blonde/copper highlights in october so it's kinda faded at this point
this is me praying I don't end up with black hair again
and here are my afters. it's not black i swear. i actually really love it. it turned out great

Does anyone have fibrocystic breasts? I have a spot that keeps hurting me and it almost feels like a swollen lymph node or a cyst... But I then realized I'm not sure if those are typically painful 1/29/2012 9:36:53 PM |

^does that mean lumpy? I am def lumpy but don't know that it's an actual condition vs. description of them
I had a lump removed back in 2006 that was breast tissue that was growing a little out of control in my armpit (breast tissue has tails up into the armpits which normally don't cause an issue). It was nothing to worry about but it hurt like a mother so I made them take it out.
From time to time I feel similar pain in the other armpit but it never persists. I don't know if I got at your question or not 1/29/2012 10:03:31 PM |

I think my boss has the same thing. She complains that it hurts sometimes. She went to the doctor and they said no cancer. However, her Mom was recently diagnosed with stage 2 breast cancer and had similar symptoms. 1/29/2012 10:52:14 PM |

I have those from time to time. I hate self breast exams bc I seriously couldn't tell the difference between my usual lumpiness and cancer lumpiness. Kind of scary at times bc breast cancer is in my family. 1/29/2012 10:53:23 PM |

Well I'm definitely not worried about cancer - being diagnosed so young would be really really rare
But this thing is getting annoying 1/29/2012 10:53:36 PM |
DivaBaby19 Davidbaby19 45208 Posts user info edit post |
^yeah not as rare as you think 1/29/2012 10:59:45 PM |
Samwise16 All American 12710 Posts user info edit post |
No I'm pretty aware of how rare it is breast cancer is one of the top things we talk about during our breast cancer rotation so we have a ton of info thrown at us... but trust me, even though it's rare I know it's not impossible - but in this case I'm thinking it is more likely to be something relatively harmless like a cyst or something (I think my mom has fibrocystic breasts)
but some days I want to chop these suckers off 1/29/2012 11:34:41 PM |
NCSUWolfy All American 12966 Posts user info edit post |
Sam if it hurts tell them to take it out! No reason to go around in pain, even if it's not cancer.
My mom had a lump removed young too. It was nothing but it was painful. They'll likely want to do a mammogram which likely won't tell them squat since young bewbs are too dense to see anything of note.
If you have health insurance just do it. I will say that my recovery was a mother fucker. You don't realize how much you use a certain part of your body (arm pit) until its slashed open. Riding in a car was brutal and I shuffled around for a long time before it stopped hurting. 1/29/2012 11:38:23 PM |

well I'll knock on wood
I might hold out for now.. I'm going to pay attention and see if it hurts during certain times i.e. when I know my hormones are elevated and whatnot.. if it starts to hurt all the time I'll go see the doctor about it 1/29/2012 11:55:29 PM |

i've had one of those lumps for the last ummmmm 9 years or so. i have to get it removed eventually but i don't really feel like having surgery. my doctor checks it out every year and says the same thing - it looks like the same i should consider getting it removed, blah blah blah. mine sits so close to the surface of the skin that you can actually see it because my skin is slightly discolored in that spot. 1/30/2012 8:23:38 AM |

so my multivitamin is triggering my allergies, i guess it could be a sulfite. i take the vitafusion gummy prenatal, because they are awesome for my hair and nails. i don't plan on trying to get preggers for a year or two, and there is a large possibility I cant, so I don't mind switching to a non prenatal, but basically my question is are there any multi vitamins (prenatal or not) that don't have sulfites or a pork based binding agent in them? 1/30/2012 9:56:34 AM |

I never feel like I can go to a Mall to shop for clothes. Seems like I don't belong in any of the stores. It's either full of 60 year old women or teenagers. Guess I will just have to stick to online shopping or try a different mall. 1/31/2012 1:55:52 PM |

When I was in Atlanta over Christmas, they had a booth you could go in (for free) and it would do a full body scan, and tell you which stores, and what designs best fit your body. It was amazing, and I had an idea of where I could go, what I could pull, and what size to pull it in. It cut down on the aimless wandering about the mall that I'm so prone to do. 1/31/2012 1:57:20 PM |
