Just curious, I found a '93 Nighthawk CB 250 for sale on eBay. It has 16890 miles on it and looks to be in pretty damn good shape. First bid price is 1k and the Buy it now is 1450.

I am looking for a starter bike that I can pick up locally and will be good on gas. From what I can tell, these bikes will get about 70 mpg on the hwy. Would this be a good bike to start with and commute to work on? I do 30 miles each way every day and currently drive a truck that is paid for that gets about 25 mpg maybe, so I run about $50 week in gas. Its got 200k+ miles though and is starting to show its age a bit. Would this be a decent bike to start with? BTW, here is the link to the auction.

Also if I got this, I am going to want to listen to my XM radio on the ride. What sort of options do I have? Have they got helmets that you can put a satellite radio headphones/speakers in or something? Just curious, thanks!

yeah that's mine. just painted it yesterday. not done with the tank yet though/ still need to get stickers for the rear "gt 647" and "honda" where they used to be. it's actually rustoleum/hammered look paint. it doesnt crack like flat black and has a nice texture to it. i found it at ace hardware. i went to rustoleum's website they have all kinds of colors, not just black.

Ok, what the hell is the deal with us Tdubber's hitting dear.
I hit one the other day on the way to work... but it was a 1 in a million deal. The deer was like playing saftey on the road and was trying to keep me off it, i slid the back end around like i was about to lay it down, and pretty much layed it into the dear. I hit the dear side to side, and knocked it over. When i hit it, it actually knocked my back up, and i didnt even lay it over. Only damage is a small crack in the fender, some scuffs. and a bent rear exhaust bracket/rear peg...and quite a few bruises on my leg. All and all, it was crazy. It was complete luck, and and i take no credit for my skills.

my bike is basically sold. the guy rode it around while i got to drive his turbo wrx . he liked it, gave me a 200 dollar deposit. he's giving me $1850.00 for the bike either today or tomorrow (cash in all) and i get to keep all the extras.. ie katana forks, corbin seat, spare rear sets, mirros, clip ons, etc.. that i will sell on hawk list for roughly 200.
