is it hard to believe you are 7.5% Quinn? 9-10% is generally considered the bf% when guys start seeing abs. i dont think its hard to believe you are under 9 somewhere.

i use these to give me a pretty good idea of my bodyfat.

http://www.bodybuilding.com/store/bbcom/defenderbodyfatcaliper.html

my gym has trainers that will caliper measure bodyfat for you, but, it is hard to have the same person do it every time.

it's not hard to believe at all, considering his height / weight combination coupled with his ectomorph physique

i was 178 and 11% bf when I could clearly see a 6 pack set of abs but I couldn't maintain that level of intensity and clean eating for very long.. Plus, I looked like a skeleton with a big giant head (to me, it look like to me)

also, i was in boot camp and had a guy at 2% bf. may not be healthy but you can be that low

I'm flexing the abs to get that kind of definition. I dont work out abs directly so its all from squats, bench, and shoulder press (exception : linda's class once or twice hahaha). I toyed with the idea of doing weighted ab work but it makes me nauseous. Even a situp makes me feel a little uneasy. I've decided I would be happier gaining mass somewhere else (ehe ). I dont mind being little (150-155lbs) at this point anymore to be completely honest. I was 125 last november....that was bad.

"What type of gluten-free bread and protein bars do you like, Cass?"

umm i would have to look at the bread. i have some almond rice bread which is pretty good and the protein bars i found are apparently something new.

kroger by far has the best selection for gluten free stuff. they have gluten free breads, bagels, flat breads to make pizzas, along with a whole gluten free section in the produce section so i can find everything easily at once instead of going up and down all the aisles trying to search for things.

i would recommend getting the gluten free pasta that is made from quinoa. it tastes better and is less sticky than traditional gluten free pasta made with rice.

Here's a helpful link for understanding what certain body fat percentages look like:
http://www.leighpeele.com/body-fat-pictures-and-percentages

Quinn prob is between 7 and 10%.

I usually measure around 18% at the gym, which seems about accurate.

good link!

it's important not to believe what you see on those scales with the BF percentages and to get a proper bodyfat test (skinfold or dunk tank test)

cheapo scale puts me at 29-30%, but I'm much closer to 18-20%, haven't been measured in awhile

I got tape measured and mine was really high... shockingly so actually.

My trainer is hopefully going to be bringing the calipers next week so I can get a more accurate read.

There is one place that says I am 24.23% body fat and then another that says I am 25.49%. I will take both and hopefully it will be coming down more. I have lost an 1" around my waist and 1" around the widest part of my tummy. So exciting!

Sorry, I missed this..

I'm cycling on and off of it, 3 months on it, 1 month break, repeat..

It's not as effective as it used to be when it had ephedrine in it, but it's not bad for you like it was then, either..

My results are inconclusive right now, but I'll keep you informed if I notice any changes when I'm on or off of it.

I am around 90ish lbs down so far. I started Jan. 1 2008 (somebody actually stuck to their new years resolution!) but have taken some time off since then. I think I took the summer of 2008 off and oct-dec of 2009 off to finish my thesis. I've got some before pics but they aren't pretty. I think this is after I lost about 10 pounds because I had to work up the courage to take these pictures.

As for the loose skin, I don't know if it will ever go away. It's still squishy so I know there is fat in there to lose.

I never had that happen, but all I know is before I went on it, I was constantly like needcarbsneedcarbsneedcarbs just because my insulin levels were so out of whack... Right after going on Phentermine, I had to make myself eat. I would go 8+ hours and be like, "oh yeah, guess I should eat."

Oh and I could get like 4 hours of sleep and be bright-eyed and bushy tailed the next morning with that stuff

The doctor told me nowadays you can only get it through a prescription, and you usually can't ask for it, they have to offer it... unless ya know, you order it from overseas. I was on 37.5 mg I think.

^ that's amazing!!!! Great job

Nice work, BluBalls and Wadhead1!

I saw that you mentioned losing 90 lbs since Jan 2008, but didn't look for before pics

that's awesome!

@ Joie: Yeah, the kind with ephedrine had me so anxious that I was ready to jump out of my skin , so I stopped taking it

well, for that reason and high school athletes were dropping dead on the court every week from it

my dad and i are running together tomorrow

i'm running w/ his galloway group. LUCKY 13's haha - 13 minute milers. 6 miles.

my TNT schedule only has me running 5 tomorrow but whatevs - pretttttty sure i can handle 13 minute miles

never done galloway. run 1 minute walk 1 minute. i usually just run until i'm tired and then walk for ~1 minute and then keep running.

yayyyyy i'm glad my family is getting healthy together. i just don't want my dad to have a heart attack or something. i'm secretly terrified of that happening. but oh well what are you gonna do.

Double check your hydroxycut to make sure that the bottle you have wasn't recalled. They recalled a lot of their products last year for causing serious liver damage, including killing a few people and giving others jaundice. Hopefully they've all been removed from the shelves by now, but that's not something to take a chance with.

Their product was a lot safer and more effective when it contained ephedrine instead of the laundry list of drugs they have now. I'd rather take my chances with clenbuterol or DNP than take the fat burners on the shelf nowadays.

I'll have to check

I know it doesn't work nearly as well as when it contained ephedrine, that's for sure

but I also don't get all jittery and anxious either

probably just wasting money on a placebo

Processed white rice. Mayo.

The only good thing about sushi is the small amount of fish and veggies.
