I'm glad the Panthers lost, because they deserved to. Not going for it on 4th and 2 at the 50 in the third quarter when you know the defense is just gonna let the Vikings go down the entire field to score anyway is what sealed their fate.

Also relying on Mare to do anything is completely stupid. Every time I see him I get mad that we let Kasay go to make room for this clown who doesn't have any more range than Kasay did and can't make field goals even when he's in range. I'd gladly give up a roster spot for a kick off specialist if it meant having a kicker who could actually make field goals and not get his extra points blocked.

^^^ I actually would have been happy if they had tried to go for it on 4th down at the end there. It's not like there's anything riding on this season, so there's not anything to play it safe for. If they make the field goal and Minnesota gets the ball first I doubt our defense would stop them anyway, and if they go for it and get the touchdown, then their ballsiness is rewarded and everyone goes home happy (except for Minnesota fans, but who cares about them).

it sucks, but it's all a part of the learning process for a rookie QB/rookie coach

i hate to see them lose, but it's next season when a loss like this will hurt more. Cam is going to be around for a while, as are the core players. once we fill in the missing pieces, i expect to compete for the division/NFC championship every year. it just takes time, and there are a myriad of reasons to think this team is finally moving in the right direction. i'm optimistic in spite of a painful loss, fuck the haters.

I'm optimistic but I think we're at a point where optimism for the future is a given and we want to win now over teams like Minnesota.
