I blame the referee calls for tonight's loss, despite being a coherent basketball observer who actually watched all the great calls we got in the first half

Clearly, officiating was the problem when we got all the calls early on while building our 20 point lead with 10 minutes to go

Our loss had nothing to do with Duke catching fire and the Pack being tentative, turning the ball over, and missing shots

seriously. CJW had 12 minutes. CJL had 25 minutes. RH had 23 minutes. 3 starters barely played half of the game between them. Meanwhile, Painter and Johnson, bench players, each had more minutes than 3 of our starters. that's officiating.


^ Duke catching on fire had nothing to due with the fact that we couldn't put our best players in the game because they had bullshit fouls called on them. Duke catching on fire had nothing to do with the fact that we couldn't play defense even with our best players in the game because they had so many bullshit fouls called on them. Duke catching on fire had nothing to do with the fact that Duke could go over the back on every rebound with impunity and slam our guys to the floor, "trip" over our guys, and get a foul called on our guys. Duke catching on fire had nothing to do with the fact that the officials changed the entire flow of the game by calling bullshit fouls and letting Duke regain composure

I'm not going to stoop to unc fan base level and blame refs. We could have won that game in the end. Duke hit their shots down the stretch, we didnt. I would consider a bad officiated game when the fouls were 30 to 10 in favor of duke. On a positive note, I think state will do good in the acc and NCAA tourney.

we dont screen enough and well for wood. If he can't beat his man in a foot race, he can't shoot his normal shots. All his missed shots are rushed or drifting

On the other hand, there are several times tonight where he drew 2 defenders on the perimeter.

Our coaches needed to see that and tell him that he has a guy wide open under the basket if he makes that read. Duke was selling out to guard him.

We didn't adjust. It's a chess game and we got beaten by the best.

no, because poor refs in the NBA for example they treat fouls like they have to meet a quota instead of calling fouls for, you know, fouls; the refs changed what they were calling fouls drastically at different points in the game, that's poor refereeing, and that argument has nothing to deal with favoring one team over another
