Beating UNC would put us on the bubble, but we are not on the bubble just yet. Right now, Joe L.'s Bracketology has 6 ACC schools firmly in (Cuse, Pitt, Duke, FSU, UNC, UVA), with Clemson as an outside bubble team right now.

Beating UNC might at least bump them down to Last 4 In status, and should finally put us on the radar as a Last 4 in/out status.

Too many games left to worry about this right now though. Just take care of business.

It sucks that even if we had an undefeated season, we would never be allowed the play in the Raleigh regional pod in the NCAA. Duke is likely a lock to play in PNC this March as a 2-4 seed. What are they going to do if we make the NIT as an upper seed, and needing to host a few opening rounds? PNC will be non-stop basketball all week, sorry Hurricanes. It would be a crazy buzz in the area to have 10-11 fan bases all here for March Madness: 8 for NCAA, plus NCSU vs 1 or 2 NIT teams. I would be cool with our games at Reynolds

I think if they had lost to Georgia Tech last night, it would have started a downward spiral that they wouldn't have been able to recover from (which would have included a home loss to us). Unfortunately, Tech played like absolute dog shit (after giving us their best) and UNC will probably use a beat down of us as a springboard to end the season on a tear. That's just the way it is...

We are catching UNC at the wrong time. They are playing well and we have to play them in Chapel Hill which sucks as we are not good on the road (other than @Tenn). Roy will have them extra motivated as he always seems to do against State. Our best hope is that they can't hit anything from outside and TJW goes nuts. We cannot let them kill us on the boards like GT did.

UNC is gonna spank us. Kennedy Meeks is gonna play like Sean May, McAdoo will snag like 13 rebounds, Barber won't be able to handle the pressure D and Paige/McDonald will rain in 3's. That's just what's gonna happen.

Getting beyond that game, we still have a path to go dancing. Our RPI is in the 50's. We just need to win the games we're expected to win and get 1 signature win to hang our hats on. 10-8 plus a win in the ACCT will do it.

However, before losing to Syracuse last night, Wake had won 13 straight home games going back to last season, so they had been beating everyone in Winston. Granted only a few of their wins were decent opponents (us, UNC, Notre Dame), but still

Wow, couldn't have nailed this one much harder.

They missed 46 shots and somehow we only managed to get 24 of the fucking rebounds while they got the other 22. That's absolutely unbelievable.

We shut them down from 3's but it doesn't matter because UNC doesn't shoot threes at all.

Lost by 14 instead of 18 only due to late game padding against their walk ons and scrubs.

^ That was a stout prediction. The other thing you failed to mention was that our FT defense is horrible and UNC unsurprisingly hit their FTs well against us too. I still fail to understand how teams continue to shoot FTs so well against us. I guess we are just fouling the wrong guys?

At least we get a week to recover from that pitiful performance. Miami is better than their record and play teams tough at home. I see another L. We suck ass on the road.

we foul the wrong guys but its deeper than that. when you have to work hard and think a lot during the game pressure is harder to make free throws and open shots.

when the game is easy and you can just run down and score or get fouled then its much easier to focus on free throws. most college players can easily make free throws. its just a matter of focusing under pressure.

our defense puts no game pressure on the other team.
