The referee in the Tottenham match had a shocker. Steven Reid should have been off around the 70th minute. Slid in 2-footed on Rose and it was borderline straight red. The problem was that he already had a yellow. Fucking terrible. 12/26/2013 11:57:28 AM |

LFC are worthy top 4 contenders and maybe an outside chance at the title. City or Arsenal are going to win it this year. Chelsea, United, Pool will battle for 3rd and 4th. 12/26/2013 3:37:40 PM |

On the contrary I feel quite odd when players are too reverential when they play against us. Case in point, Phil Nev a few years back when Everton knocked us out in the FA. He was all alone emotionless ... come on Phil enjoy the win with your mates yeah? Schmeikes was the complete opposite though. There's got to be a middle ground you know?

Ramsey did the same vs Cardiff.
Its a delicate balance. Like RVP is a glory hunting glass-boned rapist cunt but he showed respect last year and Arsenal fans still (rightfully) didn't relent... and this year he celebrated but I really can't blame him.

And I'm double posting but Theo has come good as an offensive threat. His pace and improved finishing has made him a key piece to Arsenal (and England). He has faults and his final third decisions need work but he's no longer a punchline.
He absolutely should be first choice come July for England over Townsend.. 12/26/2013 10:47:37 PM |

I'm tempted to agree. At their best, they've been comfortably the most impressive and deadly side in the Premier League.
But I've really only watched them at home. Apparently they have this weird problem where their magic leaves them when they go play at other stadiums.
Also, everybody's writing Liverpool off as title contenders, and I'm not sure why (maybe just because of history.) It sucks that they lost to Arsenal and City, but they weren't outplayed in those games and could easily have won either of them.
If Liverpool lose to Chelsea, I will reluctantly write them off as contenders, though. No I won't. I will be very sad though

I'm not writing them off for the title, I just can't realistically say they're title contenders until they've beat another title contender. I really hope they go for it against Chelsea the same way they did yesterday.
Good thing for them is that all their remaining games against the big teams after Sunday are at home, except for United. And they haven't been City good at home this season but they've been pretty damn good. 12/27/2013 10:35:14 AM |

To be fair to the Cardiff owner I believe he had a point in firing Mackay. Did Mackay deserve it? Probably not but Vincent Tan has spent a lot of money. Cardiff certainly outspent everyone in the championship last year and were in the top 5 spenders in the premier league this year. Looking at it from a pure business standpoint Cardiff should have been doing better but they spent on dross like Cornileius. Is Mackay a decent manager? Certainly, but I also believe he gets more credit then he should because it wasn't like Mackay was strapped for cash. Mackay is a clever man, he tried to create a scandal by going public about his conversations with Tan, thus ensuring the fans were on his side.

not a good half. Chelsea straight up dominated. That's what happens when you have zero depth

Suarez is forced to play so much deeper against top teams where Liverpool's midfield gets overrun.

Can't say Liverpool really deserved anything from that game but could have been a lot different if Sahko's header goes in early second half. They need Gerrard/Sturridge back healthy in the worst way.
Nice to see Chelsea with a number of cheap shots too. They're the masters of little fouls that aren't enough to be called or to be called for penalties. 12/29/2013 1:15:10 PM |
