Holy shit, Priebus on Face the Nation cited one of the San Bernardino shooters being a K-visa holder as justification for the executive order. Let that sink in for a moment.

AND in the same interview, he stated that this approach empowers (compels?) CBP officers to scrutinize visa holders from the seven countries with extra questions before admitting them to the United States. Now, I can accept the average American not understanding what exactly a visa is, but the White House Chief of Staff demonstrating a similar lack of understanding is frightening.

A visa does NOT grant anyone entry to the United States, it merely authorizes the holder to apply for entry into the US at a port of entry. Why do we need to further empower CBP officers to question visa holders when they already have and exercise this power?

Border agents are ignoring a court order, aclu is seeking a contempt order which would trigger us marshals going in to arrest these agents. What happens after that I don't know... if CBP doesn't cooperate and trump doesn't order them to, that would mean trump is in contempt. Trump has very famously hired private security guards too.

The only thing that will diffuse this is if trump gets an order staying the previous court order or if he backs down off the portions of the ban that are at issue.
