Damn, it would be amazing if we snagged Amilé and had 4 burger stars in 1 class.

Their opinion is that the other opinions are wrong, unlike their opinion which is indeed right.

Sorry, I know this is a stupid question, but it's been driving me nuts.

How do you properly pronounce Jefferson's first name? Is it supposed to sound like "Ah-meal" or "Ami-lee" (like Emily with an "A"), or something else?

\/, \/\/\/: cool, thanks.

I'm hoping the fact that we were after Jefferson from the beginning sways the decision in our favor.

I'll stick to just calling him "Jefferson" from here on out.

The fact that we already have 3 McD AA's in the class and he would make it 4 has me feeling a lot better about our chances than I did a week or two ago. I can't imagine being in his shoes, having to choose between an established, guaranteed winning coach/program versus the potential and "what-if" thoughts that must be going through his head when he thinks about rounding out a 4 McD AA recruiting class and the hype and impact they could create.

anyone know the last class that had 4 McDAAs? Or how many there have been?

nevermind,

Kentucky had a 4-man McDAA class in 2011
UNC did it in 2009
Duke did it in 2002 and 1999
Michigan also did it in 1991 with the Fab 5 class

Are you kidding me? Scoot was a role player and Calvin most of our offense now runs through CJL.

Get the fuck out

Again, how is a role player more of a contributor to the team as opposed to someone who fuels the entire offense?

Leslie is undoubtedly the better player and has a chance to leave one hell of a legacy if he sticks around three or four years. But Scooter did more than CJ has done so far. Not sure what the fuck you mean by role player. Dude started and dude went to the tourney and dude won a game in the tourney. CJ hasn't done shit.

Both guys would (provided this season ends well) help end long no-NCAA streaks

And Leslie is a lot closer to whoever the best player is on this team (Brown? CJW?) than Scooter was to Grundy or Jules

saying leslie fuels the entire offense is a bit of a hyperbole...When your entire starting lineup is averaging double digits in scoring, nobody single handedly "fuels" the offense

What?

Hodge, Melvin and maybe even Evtimov (when healthy) were better contributors to that team. I'm just stating that if CJ were to leave this year he would be a spot above scoot in terms of contribution to the program because he is the main reason we are in the top half of the ACC this year.

Saying the CJL is on the same rung as scoot is dumb.

The only caveat to that is I don't think this team is as good as they are this year if you remove any of our top 7 guys

Even Alex Johnson is critical since we'd be relying Jaqawn Raymond to spell Zo otherwise

According to Pomeroy, CJ is less valuable to the offense than Brown or Howell

According to my eyeballs he is equal in value to all five starters, maybe Brown gets a slight nudge up and CJW gets a slight nudge down.

To say he's some runaway beast that's carrying the team on his back is ridiculous.

Moreover, it's not at all what the conversation is about. CJ hasn't done shit and the teams he's been on haven't done shit. Scoot was a huge part of successful teams.

I remember talking about this subject with a friend, and we decided Scooter was our favorite player from undergrad, but we couldn't particularly remember why. We remember him missing like 30 straight 3s or something terrible like that. We remembered him "locking down" Reddick for "only" 27 points, but we won the game so no one cared. I think we decided that we liked him because he was one of the few Herb recruits that actually looked like a basketball player.

If you want to check out BeeJay Anya, his DeMatha team is playing against UNC commit Nate Britt and his Gonzaga team on ESPN2 right now. Anya, who we are recruiting and is ranked as the #1 C in the 2013 class, is 6'8", but has a 7'9" wingspan.

Here is the latest rumor about Jefferson.

Quote :
"UPDATE: Per this this story by FiveStarBasketball.com, Villanova is making a big push to land 2012 PF Amile Jefferson (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Central). Still however, it appears that the hometown Wildcats need to make up ground on Duke in the race for Jefferson.

According to Five-Star, "... sources close to the recruitment indicate Duke remains the favorite," the website states, "even though they entered the recruiting process late." Also, one should not discredit North Carolina State, a squad that has pursued Jefferson since Mark Gottfried became head coach last spring.

---
Adam Zagoria of SNY.tv wrote Thursday that Amile Jefferson (Philadelphia, Pa./Friends Central) will hold off on making his college decision for a little while longer, and that Duke could now be the team to beat.

"... a source close to Jefferson's recruitment said the 6-foot-7 Philly Friends Central forward would likely choose between Duke or N.C. State, and that he was leaning '60/40' to Duke," wrote Zagoria.

i'm worried he's going to commit before the McDonald's game. i kind of hope his team keeps winning so he's not able to go to the duke game on thursday. i feel like if he's there and we lose, it can't be good for our chances.
