The way Voyager ended irritates me. And no, not because of the time travel paradox and all of that, but the romantic ending... Chakotay and 7??? 7 should have totally ended up with the Doctor and Chakotay with Janeway. 12/28/2013 3:57:52 AM |

I am feeling kind of guilty for skipping Christmas near Charlotte, but I'm uber congested and my back and hips are killing me and I really didn't want to drive 3 hours last night just to have to get up today and drive back and forth from people's houses another 3 hours then go to sleep and wake up Sunday to drive 3 hours home.

What irks me the most is that we do this several times a year. And none of them ever come to Raleigh to see us. We aren't the only people here either. This is my husband's family and his parents live here and his brother. We all have extra bedrooms but up there only one person has one extra bed so three people end up sleeping on couches or inflatable mattresses. My MIL's mother lives with her other daughter so they could totally drive up together and my FIL's parents are still young enough to travel (got married and started popping out kids at 15) AND their daughter lives close enough to drive them too. I know they are older and all but I am 6 months pregnant. And my mother in law is all upset about me not going because I tried four times to get them to make plans where we wouldn't have to drive all day Saturday and she would say ok and then the next time we talked she would say I've decided to convince everyone to do this because it will be easier or everyone and in actuality it will have causes US to do more driving and the people who live there to not have to do anything. She has done this a ton lately. We will discuss something, come to a decision, and then next conversation she will have completely forgotten and made up her own plan that totally inconveniences us. She has had to call the venue for my baby shower and change the menu at least 3 times because I will tell her all the things I can't eat while I am pregnant and remind her that I can't have onions and she will call and decide she doesn't like something we picked out together and change it to something she likes which is inevitably something on my "do not eat" list.
Wow. That turned in to a longer rant than I planned. 12/28/2013 9:45:11 AM |

my mom and dad only do things that inconvenience me now too. it was hard to accept that they turned into stupid old people so fast.
When they were up here visiting, we asked them to come for christmas and instead they came during a week my husband was travelling for business. then she booked a hotel 3 hours from my house in the mountains. My car was having trouble and I asked them to come with me and stay in the city for the last couple days of their trip when I had to go get hubby from the airport, but they refused. I had to rent a car and go back and get them 3 hours away from my house and take them to the airport in a goddamn blizzard.
stupid old people. fuck em. next time i won't be shy to tell them that I know best and they better listen to me, since they're already going senile. and i suggest you take the same tack.

I am definitely headed in that direction. My in laws have bought land in the mountains to build their retirement house on and plan on having one guest bed...with two sons. I hope they dont expect us to do what they have been doing all these years. Because it ain't happening. All of their friends are asking them why they plan on moving right after their first grandchild is born. I also hope she doesn't expect to be up here every other weekend...oh goodness. I just realized that may be the case. Fuck.
We already told everyone that next Christmas we aren't leaving our house. And we probably won't take any trips any where near the holiday with the exception of visiting my grandmother who is unable to travel. My husband also insists that we aren't going anywhere until the baby is at least 3 months old, but I dont know how that will hold up. 12/28/2013 11:04:22 AM |

elise mainly potato 13090 Posts user info edit post |
No clue. But it runs in my family. Used to be only raw onions but now it is all onions unless they are cut super duper small. I'm not allergic but I get pains in my side after eating them. I have read that people with bile reflux (which I have) have trouble digesting them so I guess that could be it. 12/28/2013 12:24:07 PM |

What is the point of a registry if no one is gonna use it? And if you buy something not on the registry why would you not include a gift receipt? I can understand small things like clothes and toys...whatever...but a highchair and diaper bag? Ugh. I do not want your 40 dollar bargain one star rated high chair that according to ratings is a mini near death trap or a diaper bag that 80 year olds think is "so fashionable."

Old people. Old people don't get registries. And I feel bitchy saying it. I'm ashamed of myself but dammit I registered for a high chair that, yes, was more expensive, but converts from infant all the way up through like 5 years old. This one only reclines and doesn't have a harness so it is only good until the baby starts eating solids. And the reviews say it is a bitch to clean. You can not remove the fabric to wash it and it has all these nooks and crannies you apparently have to clean out with a knife. I was skeptical at first but open, so I checked out the reviews. One out of 5 stars versus 5 out of 5 stars for the high chair and 2 out of five versus 5 out of 5 for the diaper bag. Although I would not have minded a back up diaper bag the reviews on this one say it falls apart anywhere between 1-5 months. We did find out they are both from Walmart though so it should be a fairly simple return. 12/29/2013 10:31:55 AM |

Id rather not have them injecting things into me that I dont need. But I also dont really take tylenol unless my head feels like its gonna explode. Luckily I fight these things off fairly quick already my nose and sore throat feel better but its taking its toll on my body as far as how I feel with all the weakness and aches to get rid of it quickly. 12/30/2013 9:17:41 AM |
