jaZon, his excuse/reasoning:
Quote :
""I never have more than one drink before dinner. But I do like that one to be large and very strong and very cold and very well-made. I hate small portions of anything, particularly when they taste bad. This drink's my own invention. I'm going to patent it when I can think of a good name.""

But also, if you make a martini that's just vodka and a bit of shaved ice and lime juice, it's very strong.

Very.

haha, nice

Blah, the extent of my social life for the past year has been work and facebook. It's pathetic. I'm blaming the regression in social skills caused by that for how I'm completely fucking things up with this girl at the moment

Somehow I carried on the conversation during this, but it was obvious something was wrong with me. Scared the fuck out of the person I was conversing with."

maybe you should talk to a doctor about that, for real.

I kinda just want to sit in my apartment and be a waste of life this weekend.

Unfortunately, I'm supposed to be going out tomorrow night and I have a date on Saturday. Damn, I'm an ungrateful bastard.

It was only a gland problem because he wouldn't shit. He's had a bug or something the last few days. I think its almost gone now and he finally took a shit (first shit in about 2 or 3 days).

Well yeah, sorry that's what I meant. The thing that you have to watch sometimes with that is that they will almost flat-out refuse to go if the gland problem gets too bad/painful which obviously just makes it worse.

Looking at how much I cleaned up the apartment, one would think I had a date coming over, but nooo... I was just tired of my roommate's filth

I am in a food rut. I don't really want to eat much of anything besides bread. The weird part is that I really like all kinds of food, but I can't get my taste buds interested in variety lately.

Looking for a damask striped-sheet set is soooo difficult. It needs to be not too expensive but still somewhat comfy. Wish someone could help me.....

TV shopping is overwhelming. Not to mentioned I already picked the TV I want but the husband is still comparing and deciding. At least we both like the same brand.

We are in to the LGs right now. The one I want is very similar to the one he wants. Main difference is mine is Google TV or whatever and the magic remote has a qwerty keyboard on it.

The one he likes is a smart tv as well just not classified as Google. I honestly dont know what difference that makes which is why im not making the decision. The fancy remote was awesome though.

Apparently there are Ultra HD TVs out now. But we can't spend 4k.

Holy crap. 70 inches is huge! We have a tiny town house living room. Husband wants 50 or 55. Im actually fine with 47. That is a good price though.

^^Within the next few years, everybody is going to have an enormous TV regardless of how small their homes/rooms are.

If you guys are as strapped as you claim with a baby on the way, you should probably buy a really cheap and/or used TV to hold you over until the big ones get cheap. You could probably mention to a few family people that your TV broke, and someone might give you one of their extras for free (cause they want to buy a new one).

Anyway, I'm just sayin...I thought you said you were so "poor" that you couldn't afford your healthy snack chips.

We are poor because we we just paid off all our debt and dont want to go in to anymore debt before or hospital bills. This will not go on a credit card. We bought our new furniture with our Christmas bonuses and this will be purchased with our tax refund. If we dont get a refund we wont get a TV. Well at least not one like mentioned above. We have money set aside for a dining room table and I am giving my husband that towards his TV. It really is a matter of priorities. We want a certain amount in savings so we wont take from that but we have cut all other forms of entertainment like cable and Hurricanes season tickets, a TV is really a pretty inexpensive form of hours of entertainment.

I remember complaining that eating healthy was expensive. And it is. A 5 dollar bag of root vegetable chips is not worth it. For 5 dollars I can get a bag of raw broccoli and raw carrots that will last me way longer and is probably much better for me.

I see. It sounds like you're not poor at all. And, if you don't have cable, then I imagine you would want the smart TV stuff.

When it comes to things like 5 dollar bags of chips we are poor. We have different budgets for different parts of our household.

And individually I am definitely poor. As couple we manage quite well. As I said, our priority has been paying off debt and we budgeted very tightly for food. Our last TV lasted 9.5 years. We will invest in something good rather than buy something cheap.

yeah even "poor" people can budget for things like TV's. (and of course i assume we are talking about the first world definition of "poor")

Definitely, Smath. And yes, acraw. I know. I don't remember when the hell I made a comment about those chips, maybe Bridget can find it. At one point I had given up white potatoes so maybe it was around that time.

Looks like I was comparing the price of my bag of terra chips to the price of a 5 gallon bucket of cheeseballs. I think the terra chips definitely win out in that case as far as which is healthier. Also, that post was 8 months ago. Our circumstances have changed drastically since then.

I like finding out when people don't like me even when I'm nice to them. It makes me just turn up the niceness to outrageous levels just to be annoyingly spiteful as shit.

And if this chick keeps asking me to go to her church I will burn it down.

Could be because he is twice divorced.
