Same shit I brought up months ago. Her planning a vacation for her 10 year anniversary the week of my due date which is at the end of March. Her anniversary is in July. That part doesn't bother as much as the fact that she is asking both sets of our parents to either go with her to babysit her kids or to keep her kids for the whole week they are gone. She has an adopted kid and a foster kid but they have tried for 8 years to have their own and I understand how frustrating it can be that her sister (with the same reproductive disorder) got pregnant after trying for 6 months. And I'm cool with her not wanting to be around after the birth or possibly during, but I am not cool with her trying to take my mom and dad with her.

When I make our menu and grocery list for the week, I always start with listing the things I have that I need to use. This week, I wrote bamboo shoots. But the h kind of runs into the o, so I keep reading it as bamboo sloots.

currently i just look at what i want to make and then start picking out what i don't have. but that lets a lot of things end up going bad.

It definitely helps a lot with fresh stuff. I try to only buy what I need to make the recipes I have planned, but I inevitably end up with some stuff left over. It also helps with pantry goods too, since I tend to sometimes buy things that look good because they're on sale or something, then forget about them and they never get used.

Our food saver has helped us with menu planning and eliminating waste. The pantry still becomes a food graveyard sometimes but with fresh stuff I separate it in to meal sized portions and vacuum seal and freeze when necessary.

I need to get more reusable bags and containers for it.

Also, what do bamboo shoots taste like?
