i think the statement bartleby shoulda said was
everybody had a specific reason to be on that specific flight, certain events in their lives created the situation where they were on that flight
and usually, those events involved somebody close to them that they were either going to help or going to go do something for

My wording probably could have been better. None of the survivors should have been on that flight.
I'm too tired to think through all of it know, but basically everyone ended up on that particularly flight as a victim of circumstance. At the very least, each person was presented with a major decision that facilitated them being on that flight as opposed to any other. 5/5/2005 12:24:47 AM |

Were there way more people at Boone's funeral than are on the island??? They need to bring some of these characters into the show, especially since people are dying and next week leaving on a boat? 5/5/2005 12:44:49 AM |
bartleby All American 15561 Posts user info edit post |
There are something like 48 survivors still left alive. You'll pretty regularly see some of the others in the background doing stuff, but apparently most of them just aren't interesting enough to involve in the major plot or to focus on the life pre-crash. 5/5/2005 12:48:19 AM |

too many storylines at once would be bad
plus too many extras can get costly so thats why you dont see that many on the island at one time 5/5/2005 12:49:33 AM |

some unknown guy. steve or somethin like that.
i didnt really think that funeral was elaborate. a group carried his body out there, and sayid said something. we know a group carried "steve" out to be buried. i'm sure somebody said something. so i'd wager it was just as elaborate. 5/5/2005 11:49:31 AM |

^^i as well am very glad that steve's made it this far
the dude that ethan killed wasnt just some unknown guy. it was scott, steves friend. Lost hasnt been the same since he left.

i remember when scott and steve made their first appearance on the show.... I think they should bring a storyline in on how steve is coping with the loss of scott. 5/9/2005 2:04:44 AM |
aaawally Veteran 279 Posts user info edit post |
i bet they were magicians, scott being a newly admitted alcoholic who blew his big show in sydney by drinking a bottle of Jack before, causing him to slice open his assistant. and steve, his magical adversary, who fears candy.

I could see the magician storyline being true.
I could also see that Scott and Steve were gay buddies that met on the internet. Scott flew to Sydney to pick Steve up and bring him back to Massachusettes to get married. Then they crashed on the crazy magic island, turned hetero, and were just friends. 5/9/2005 4:16:46 PM |

Im starting to get this sinking feeling that I am gonna be disappointed in how this ends up.. something tells me it will be something cheesy like the black kid is having a dream on the plane and this is all just in his head or something. 5/11/2005 4:49:38 PM |

^when i saw the LOST special on 20/20 last week, one of the creative heads (or maybe the producer..either of the two, cannot remember who exactly) said that they would feel cheated if they ended by saying it was a dream. hopefully, it shall not be so 5/11/2005 5:52:19 PM |

more of what the kid can do?
we know he already burned the raft, we've known he's had weird psychic abilities...
what kate is capable of?
her first flashback episode was the bank robbery, that's all we needed to know to know what she was capable of
all we learned tonight was the significance of the little plane, that's it 5/11/2005 9:27:41 PM |

i dont recall the kid being touched and having a flash before
and as far as kate goes...didnt really think she would go and "poison" someone
kinda figured she would be tryin to find some redemption 5/11/2005 9:30:55 PM |
CharlieEFH All American 21806 Posts user info edit post |
she didn't poison anyone, she had someone poisoned
and its not like she was trying to kill anyone
now if she had killed sawyer or michael or jinn then i might be surprised but she was just having someone get sick for a probably not even a day
it was a good idea, it just didn't work the way she hoped 5/11/2005 9:38:35 PM |

i was watchin regis and kelly today and kate was on, she said that they would show a glimpse at what the creature was on the last episode. i think it was funny that the random science teacher showed up today. seems like if he were so smart he would have been involved with more stuff on the show so far.
i bet that they all help out kate so that she doesnt get busted once they get off the island 5/11/2005 9:48:25 PM |

i'm assuming the writers for Lost have the same kind of creative ability as the writers for Desperate Housewives. i am also assuming from what i just said that the writers for Lost have multiple seasons already planned out tentatively....thats what Marc Cherry did for DH.5/12/2005 12:33:58 AM |

and the reason i know this is b/c some of them wrote for Buffy the Vampire Slayer and Angel
im sure they have whole character arches and seasons thought out as well 5/12/2005 12:41:40 AM |

I can't believe that Steve didn't know about the whole Polar Bear fiasco!!!
I also can't believe Art, the high school science teacher knows so much about the winds. I bet Art knows El Nina like the back of his dick.
"I can't bereave that Michaer sulvived the poisining I gave him and that Jack didn'lt figule out that Kate did it and not myserf" the Asian chick terrs the audience!
Good ep toinght. I can't wait for the next two and I hope they don't end up in some gay dream explanation. 5/12/2005 2:54:20 AM |

i think its messed up they didnt tell steve about the polar bear. i mean, after he lost scott, who could he trust? obviously not a pack of liars like everyone on the island.
