Does anybody else hate the G3? I'm using it now, just to trudge along and get 150 kills with it, but damn it's worthless. I'm not bad with it, just not nearly as productive as I am w/ the M16. I'm also trying to rack up kills with the SAW, which sucks in comparion to the good 'ol RPD.

the G3 and M14 can both be good weapons but you almost have to put yourself in the mindset of using them...if you're used to fully auto ARs, or even burst ARs like the M16, you have to be used to semi auto popping a couple shots at their heads...i mostly just use the M16 if I'm using an AR...good combo of power and accuracy and with Stopping Power, a 3 round burst to the torso usually kills anyone who doesn't have Juggernaut

but you are right. the G3 and M4 are not for CQC. and you need to shoot in short spurts and then move.

That silenced P90 with the silence perk sounds great. I'll definitely be trying it out once Microsoft makes my red ring disappear.

i prefer a silenced AR with dead silence...silencers reduce range, but since ARs already have longer range than SMGs, you don't lose as much range when you silence an AR

I've been running around with the silenced p90 and dead silence perk. It's good for sneaking up on people, but the gun has little to no stopping power or range.

great for Hardcore modes (Bomb Squad because people plant lots of explosives on HC)

i can't justify using dead silence if i don't also have UAV jammer...i know there is still value in being able to silently climb metal stairs and all that, but a quick enemy UAV online could ruin all your fun

yeah i have to be in the 'mood' when using these weapons. I have had my highest kill streak while using a
G3 (in pipeline had to switch to a mp5 silenced that i picked up toward the end due to ammo). Almost exclusivly
i use the M14 w/ jammer and depending on the map jammer or stopping power w/ the G3. I'd say in most situations
RDS w/ a G3 is just as effective than using one of the auto weapons w/ ACOG.

Since i prestiged though i started using frequenctly the M16 which i barely touched my first go around, even having unlocked
the M4 carbine and G3 which i used to use a lot more.

In some maps dead silence is still effective even when you don't have uav jammer. Also, u have to remember that
depending on the skill of the enemy team UAV might not always be online. Even with online i remember several instances
where eventhough i did not have a jammer on i still was able to sneak up on an enemy b.c they couldn't hear me
walking up the stairs or sneaking around the corner. This is especially true with those sniping. As Dammnit says the SMGs really help when u have teh speed factor.

Right now my most used classes are

Overwatch-
M16 w/ ACOG
claymores, UAV JAmmer (sometimes stopping power on some maps like countdown), deep impact or last stand (depend on map).

Shotties-
M1200 w/ grip
stopping power or juggarnaut, martyrdom

BigMan-

RPD w/ grip
stopping power, extreme conditioning

Ghost-
mp5 w/ rds
spec gren x3, uav jammer, last stand


^ yeah b.c at long range it is a lot more effective than the m4 carbine and if i'm doing cqc or rushing i should be using a smg or shottie anyway.

and the great thing about the m16 for cqc is that all you gotta do is aim chest level and strafe with them

I win 8/10 "surprise" battles now using that, basically I love the m16, put a scope on it if you like, you get great range and power, can't go wrong with red dot, and if you must, silence it

^, I used double tap for a while, then decided it didn't give me an advantage. I was just going through bullets faster and not killing more people. I could see using it on shipment with an m60 and rds....oooohhhh

^ the problem w/ rds is i figure i might as well just use the iron sights and stick to the Assault "given class" freeing a custom class for something else.

IMHO at least for tdm the assualt class is the only useful given class.

As far as double tap i have tried it out but haven't really found it effective. Even w/ the M60.
Does double tap increase the rate of fire for guns like the pump shottie or G3????

I prefer red dots on anything that isnt silenced or gripped...I hate ACOGs...but I know other people who love ACOGs and hate red dots...iron sights are much better on some guns than others...i dont like the iron sights on an M60, but they're not that bad on an RPD or SAW (Although the SAW blows for other reasons, mainly because the RPD and M60 are both better)

as far as double tap i believe you can use it on any gun...its just more useful on slow guns like the M60 or the pump shotgun...it wouldnt be very practical on a P90 for example unless you plan on running out of ammo very quickly

as far as getting the skorpion 150 kill challenge, you get that fairly easily from just playing Old School Free For All since you always spawn with a Skorpion

i just broke my controller

while playing on crash for 3 consecutive spawns i had

spawn right in front of op-for knifed in 0.5 seconds

spawn take one step to hear clickity clank 2 seconds in grenaded

spawn right in the alley way as a enemy air strike is carpet bombing

btw any strategy guide i read is descredited by anyone that claims "sleight of hand" is a must for a LMG. anyone claiming such is a n00b that is either just spray and praying or has issues planning when and where to reload.

i think a lot of the initial strategy suggestions about perks and classes evolve as people prestige a few times, learn the maps and guns better, and learn what works...I mean I'm sure everyone was pumped when they first unlocked the Overkill perk...woo hoo! i get a machine gun AND a sniper rifle! but then you realize there are much better ways to use your perks
