MSM keeps posting articles about what Trump is thinking almost daily. I see it on CNN all the time and these bombshells from WAPO and NYT seem to pop up during every scandal. The idea is to take something bad Trump did and then push the reader even further by saying "and now he's considering the next bad thing" You can't read an article like this and not conclude "trump has gotta go" and thats what its designed to do. The problem is that its unsubstantiated and could be completely made up. There will never be a way to know if it was completley made up or not because, like most of the trash these days, there are no sources.

It’s really not poor journalism if you have any clue how journalism works. And Trump essentially confirmed it like 30 minutes after your post and said he wants to investigate the IG.

I know it’s best to ignore Earl but nearly every story we have seen (with some notable mistakes) like this has been verified 100%.

If you want perfection, then I don’t know what to tell you.

I'm you made that slip because its pretty much unacceptable to not be blindly anti-Trump in the real world which has resulted in a lot of thoughtlessness in the movement against him. Its usually safe to assume anyone who has a problem with blind anti-trumpism is a trump fan because most people don't complain about things as long as their agenda is benefiting and anyone who doesn't like Trump is benefiting from dishonesty and unfairness against him.

With that said, it makes sense that since I call out BS against Trump, I must have a pro-Trump agenda. I'm just not like most people. I try to seek the truth even when it doesn't benefit my agenda. I'm anti-a lot of things Trump does, but not just blindly anti-Trump. In a perfect world, no one would be.

Being blindly anti-trump is stupid and thats what it amounts to. This notion that anything bad for trump is automatically good and anything trump says is automatically bad. Do you really think its 100%? Trump could come out and do something previously thought of as "good" and anti-trump people will say its bad and be outraged just because he did it.

Being anti-Trump undermines genuine resistance to Trump's awful policies and forces his supporters to write all complaints off as anti-trumpism.

They do a great job satirizing Trump and republicans in general based on their actual behaviors but they always tend to glorify people they like or at least go easy on them.

Although the different media outlets have slightly different approaches to the far right, they all hate the far left and shift the overton window by constantly framing basic things as "extreme left".

Fox news frames CNN, MSNBC and anything democrat as "far left"
CNN and MSNBC frame anything slightly left of center as "far left"

Far left voices are rarely represented on any of these networks while far right voices are always placed in juxtaposition with center right voices to represent "both sides".

I've been on vacation the last week or so, and have been a homebody just hanging out with the fam so I haven't been in the car much, but I did run some errands the other day and just happened to have it on 106.1 because I listen to the local morning show when taking my child to school.

It was sometime after noon and someone was filling in for Rush, I don't remember his name. Someone who considered themselves a moderate called in asking why the right didn't give conservative atheists more consideration. The guy was legitimately concerned that a segment of the conservative population was being ostracized and the guest host was like "you were asked questions by the screener, let through, and are being heard by millions of Americans. Tell me how you're not being heard." It was such an asshole response. Then another guy called in regarding how Trump (and I was schooled on this topic here on tww) was being praised for bringing troops home from the middle east but was really just moving them around. This guy was another conservative who was concerned that Trump really wasn't doing what he said he was. And the host just ignored it and kept talking about how he was bringing troops home.

I think he’s trying to say that somewhat sensible ideas are penetrating the conservative bubbles they’re just mocked by the gatekeepers. And perhaps there’s hope that maybe conservatives aren’t as fiercely loyal as they seem.

I do recall just after Obama was elected conventional wisdom was republicans were in disarray and lacked organization and there was an effort to reboot with an appeal to religious minorities (particularly Hispanics). This obviously didn’t happen but it does demonstrate how quickly the parties can collapse and rebuild
