i'm really confused about the others' knowledge of the Swan. supposedly they didn't know about it since it survived the Purge, but Ben and Juliet knew enough about it to watch it on the Pearl's monitors, so what gives?

also, was Bram on the Ajira flight? i don't remember seeing him..

also an idea of what lies in the shadow... the nuke? the nuke buried where the swan is built, perhaps? i'm getting real excited for the last few episodes of this season.

Its not that complicated

195x Faraday told Richard to bury the nuke. Richard is amongst the hostiles. Ben was not yet born

197x The Dharma Initiative was building the swan. We are currently led to believe that the nuke is encased in concrete at the swan. "Haven't seen concrete like this since chernobyl"

If Sayid was right about there being something 'nuclear' there, then i highly doubt there are dozens of nukes just sitting around on the island buried in various places. So my question is, how did the nuke transfer possession from the others in 195x BEFORE BEN WAS AN OTHER, to the DI in 197x WHEN BEN WAS A KID.


Let me give you a Ben Vs the Swan timeline.

1950s Ben was not born
1960s Ben was born
1970s Ben was a kid, he was shot and 'became' an other. Meanwhile the swan was being built in complete secrecy.
19somethindies Swan is finished Radzinky & Kelvin live there in complete isolation. At somepoint Radzinky dies.
1990s DI is purged. Kelvin continues to live at the swan in isolation.
2000s Desmond shipwrecks, losties show up find the hatch. Blah blah blah, Ben is kept prisoner in the swan.





What i believe is: Faraday as a scientist will suggest they bury the nuke and encase it in concrete, because they made it really evident that he was incredibly concerned that it was taken care of, mainly because he knew the island had not been nuked in 2004 or 2007 or whatever. That still doesn't answer my question even if that random guess is true.

i mean, i'm sure they don't want the nuke. But if they want to carry out their mission and be safe they obviously had to do something about it.

So they probably thought they found it first before the others, or at least are doing something about it before them in order to be protected from someone setting it off and killing everything.

it was pretty clear a couple weeks ago in the Miles show, when Miles "heard" the dead guy thinking about delivering pictures of corpses and wreckage to to Whitmore, which was pretty clear to me that he was proving his work to Whitmore, who had ordered it (the lost and gone forever blogger said that possibly it could mean that Ben or someone else staged it and the guy was delivering the evidence to Whitmore, but I don't buy that)

It doesn't make sense that the nuke would be buried in the swan... besides the transfer from Others to DI that was mentioned, we saw the hatch blow up, and I'm guessing that kind of explosion would be pretty devastating for a 50 year old (already leaking) nuclear bomb.

Plus why would the nuke be acting as a strong magnet (pulling the filling out of the guy's head)? We saw Daniel walk right up to it when it was above ground and there was no electromagnet effect.

I think the concrete is just dampening the effect of whatever is causing the electromagnetism.

^It DOES make sense that the nuke is buried at the Swan, they've been hinting at that since S2 ("I haven't seen concrete like this since Chernobyl"... or whatever Sayid said.)

The electromagnetism is seperate from the nuke issue. The nuke was encased in concrete to protect from leaking radiation, the concrete has nothing to do with the magnetism (IMO).

I wrote a few pages back that I thought it was possible that when Desmond turned the failsafe key that he detonated the bomb, and I still think that's a distinct possibility. Perhaps they buried the bomb near the elctromagnetic source for two reasons, one to keep the bomb and radiation safe, and two to use it as a failsafe measure if they had to destroy or alter whatever the electromagnetic source is. I know, it's far-fetched, but just a theory, and anything is possible on LOST.
