Holy crap. Third Person Tactical is amazingly fun. I have a whole new appreciation for this game now. Perks and guns which I wouldn't have considered before are now quite viable, and some other perks and weapons which I see all the time in Sabotage are now not worth anything. I have rocked my UMP and even AT-4 in the games I've played this afternoon. I've never once earned a Flawless award until today.

Played with Golovko and AstralAdvent last night. Pretty sure we all did pretty well. Had a lot of fun running around using dual Desert Eagles, throwing knife, marathon, lightweight, and commando.

I have a newfound love for the riot shield in 3rd person games. I don't mess with it in 1st person, but it is so much fun to use in 3rd person tactical. Pair it with the throwing knife and you can really frustrate people.

For some reason, the magnum seems a LOT more powerful in 3rd person than 1st... like its got no recoil, almost.

^depending on what class I'm using I either stick semtex to their shield and laugh or I throw a stun grenade and shoot them...both are very effective.

Just don't try to shoot the AT4 (and probably the RPG, too) straight at riot shields. Shit bounces right off... and back into your face.

Semtex is pretty good...I haven't used it a ton (usually prefer Claymores or Frags, although I should probably sub Semtex for frags) but I've seen some clever kills...they certainly eliminate the risk of grendades bouncing past enemies.

I almost always use semtex unless I on a map where the HQ spawns upstairs a lot, then I can bounce frags off the wall on the way up stairs so it will land into the HQ spot. Both have tactical advantages, but overall the semtex is better to me - it has less detonation time, it lands and stays, and you can defend against riot shields easily.

you also don't have to cook semtex so i like to have it ready for release when i run into a crowded room haha (not always because i'm almost always bound to die but its fun getting killed, dropping the semtex and everyone else dying right after me) there is also a challenge for that but i think it only counts for actual frag nades.

Jumped on after watching Delhomme throw the pick 6. In a span of three straight games I went ~ 150-20 combined and bumped up my killstreak to 35 kills (wish I had the nuke). Went average from then on and then got randomly booted from Live.

^that's not laggy matchmaking, that's laggy gameplay. You asked about matchmaking.


the laggy gameplay is still there at times, but if you want to fix that 100% you will need to convince every single player to upgrade their internet connection.






Played for about an hour this afternoon, first time in about a week. Went 26-6, 21-5, 16-10, 10-6. Felt really good. I have my killstreaks set up as predator, harrier, chopper gunner. It's tough to get to 5, but once i do 7 and 11 come with ease.

^Yea but I would think its the matchmaking that causes the problem since it continues to put me in games with people that either have bad interwebz or live too far away.

You would think with so many hundreds of thousands of players they would be able to have a good matchmaking where in TDM we would only play with other NC residents.

i usually don't end up using it until a UAV pops up or i know exactly where someone is. I will say on afgan if you put it on the center of the map it will kill everyone regardless.

If its one of the crowded city levels I would go with AC130 over Chopper Gunner

And only care packages and emergency airdrops do not count towards your killstreak
